Born on August 7, 1975, in Benoni, South Africa. She was named after her father, Charles, who died when she was 15 after her mother shot him in an act of self-defence. At 16, Theron won a one-year modelling contract and moved to Europe with her mother. She later trained as a ballerina, but a knee injury ended her dance career. She then decided to switch to acting, and moved to Los Angeles.
Career:
An agent spotted Theron arguing with a bank clerk and signed her on the spot. After eight months of acting lessons she landed her first role, a non-speaking part in Children of the Corn III. A more significant role in 2 Days in the Valley followed. Tom Hanks cast her in That Thing You Do! in 1996, and she hasn't looked back, appearing in hits such as The Devil's Advocate, Mighty Joe Young, and Reindeer Games. In 2003, she starred in the remake of The Italian Job and critically acclaimed drama Monster; her performance in the latter won her an Oscar. She also starred in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Aeon Flux, Hancock, The Road, Young Adult, Snow White & the Huntsman and Prometheus.

Nicole Mary Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 20, 1967, but spent three years in Washington DC before her parents moved to their native Sydney, Australia. Her father was a biochemist and clinical psychologist, her mother a nursing instructor. Her younger sister, Antonia, is a TV presenter in Australia. Nicole took ballet lessons, but eventually turned to acting, and received a letter of praise and encouragement from Jane Campion, who saw her in a play and later directed her in The Portrait of a Lady in 1996.
Career:
At 16, Kidman made her TV and film debuts in Young Talent Time and BMX Bandits respectively. Roles in Bush Christmas and A Country Practice followed. In 1989, Dead Calm and miniseries Bangkok Hilton brought her international acclaim, and launched her career in America. Future husband Tom Cruise cast her in Days of Thunder, while To Die For proved she was more than just a pretty face. Since then, she's appeared in a number of Hollywood movies, including Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge!, The Others and The Hours (for which she won an Oscar). More recent films include Rabbit Hole, The Paperboy, The Railway Man, Grace of Monaco, Before I Go to Sleep and Paddington.

Margot Elise Robbie was born on July 2, 1990 in Dalby, Queensland and raised on the Gold Coast. She moved to Melbourne when she was 17 to pursue her acting career. Margot got her first big break when she appeared in the films Vigilante (2008) and I.C.U. (2009).
Career:
Robbie was cast as Donna Freedman in the soap opera Neighbours in 2008 and was nominated for several Logie Awards. She left the series in 2010 to pursue Hollywood roles and soon began playing Laura Cameron in the TV drama Pan Am. Her big screen debut was in romantic comedy-drama About Time (2013). Shortly after, she co-starred alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). She has since played Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad (2016).

John Arthur Lithgow was born on October 19, 1945 in Rochester, New York. During his childhood, John moved frequently because of his father's job. He graduated from Harvard College in 1967 with a degree in history and literature. John claims that a performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Utopia Limited at Harvard helped him decide to become an actor. After graduating from Harvard, he won a scholarship to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Career:
Lithgow's career started out on the stage and he had many roles on Broadway. During the 1970s, he started to appear in films, such as Obsession (1976). He went on to receive Oscar nominations for his performances in The World According to Garp (1982) and Terms of Endearment (1983). He also appeared in Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Footloose (1984) and Harry and the Hendersons (1987). From 1996 until 2001, he played Dick Solomon in the TV series 3rd Rock from the Sun. He also voiced Lord Farquaad in Shrek (2001). His film credits since then include Orange County (2002), Dreamgirls (2006), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Interstellar (2014). He has also had various TV roles, including playing Arthur Mitchell in Dexter, Winston Churchill in The Crown and Larry Henderson in Trial & Error.

Allison Brooks Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 19, 1959 to a jazz musician and an actress. Her two brothers are also musicians. A keen skater in her youth, she switched to acting after suffering a debilitating injury. Her mother, who had trained at New York's Academy of Dramatic Arts alongside Golden Girl Rue McClanahan, inspired her to take up the profession. Allison studied at Kenyon College, where she was discovered by former pupil Paul Newman when he returned to direct a play there.
Career:
On Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward's advice, Janney enrolled at New York's Neighbourhood Playhouse, but she struggled to land decent roles. She made her big-screen debut in 1989's Who Shot Patakango? and also enjoyed a two-year stint in TV soap opera The Guiding Light. Small parts followed in Wolf (1994), The Ice Storm (1997), Primary Colors (1998) and American Beauty (1999). She won four Emmy awards for her role as CJ in The West Wing. She's since appeared in Hairspray (2007), Juno (2007), The Help (2011) and The Way Way Back (2013). Her recent TV credits include Mom and Masters of Sex.
