A mayday comes in from a French yacht 16 miles west of St Helier, in the Channel Islands, from two teenage girls whose father is unconscious. On the Firth of Tay, the Broughty Ferry crew attempt to rescue a kayaker with the worst case of hypothermia they've ever encountered. In Cowes, a yachtswoman has suffered a suspected spinal injury; and on the River Thames, the Teddington crew race to the rescue of a 92-year old woman who's been cut off by the rapidly rising tide
