One of Britain's most successful and popular TV presenters, Esther Rantzen, who died on Wednesday, began working for the BBC in the mid-1960s, but was best known for the long-running series That's Life!, which blended consumer campaigns with humour. She was also a trailblazer who took up many causes, including setting up the charity Childline. Katie Razzall looks back on her career and legacy with friends and former colleagues
