About Imitation of Life
A homeless black woman moves in with a struggling actress and works as her maid in return for a place to stay. But both women struggle to cope with their unruly daughters - the aspiring star has neglected hers in pursuit of fame, while the maid's resentful mixed-race child is ashamed of her ethnicity.
