    Documentary in which writer and broadcaster Stephen Smith finds out what it took to survive and prosper in the most artistic and decadent royal courts in history. He begins with Richard II, who cultivated the first truly artistic court in England. Painters, sculptors, poets, tailors, weavers and builders flocked there to make their fortunes, but these were dangerous times, and getting close to Richard brought many to a sticky end. Featuring contributions by David Tennant and Clarissa Dickson-Wright
