Lando Norris of McLaren was the victorious driver here last year, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen finishing second and George Russell of Mercedes taking third. That round proved very much to be a sign of things to come, with Norris going on to beat Verstappen to the title and Russell finishing fourth in the standings behind the champion's teammate Oscar Piastri.
