Following a string of humiliating set-ups by teenagers, Gina clamps down on hoax calls and assigns Will to screen all incoming messages, but the plaintive voice of a youngster claiming he and his brother have been kidnapped by their father convinces Nikki it's the real thing. Confronting the suicidal parent (guest star Ralph Ineson) at the docks, she persuades him to release the children - but only on condition she takes their place in his car
Sally and Ben are shocked to find a 12-year-old at the wheel of a stolen vehicle belonging to known violent offender Dylan Morrison. Taking the youngster home, they discover his father has cause to fear Morrison, and explicit pictures of a minor celebrity found in the car indicate the reason for the bitter hatred at the heart of the case. Paul Copley guest stars
A homeless man is hit on the head by 'bricks' that turn out to be bags of cocaine jettisoned by Ben's protege Liam Harvey. When the lad is later found badly beaten, the kindly copper is incensed, assuming his father Bob is responsible. Under provocation during the interrogation, he puts his career on the line by head-butting the suspect and it's left to Callum to save Ben's skin when DPS officers arrive to investigate the resulting complaint
Sally and Will follow up a report from a shocked driver who accidentally hit a pedestrian with her car, only to see the victim run off. The trail leads to teenage runaway Adam Younger, who is bleeding from a shotgun wound after befriending homeless Jimmy Chadwick and getting involved with a professional hitman. A sting operation is called off when the gun-man turns up looking for the teenager
Club owner Iain Andain looks certain to escape rape and assault charges for the third time in his seedy career when Sam agrees to drop charges in return for information about a major drug dealer. Callum is determined the unsavoury lowlife won't get away with it yet again and encourages his indignant young constables Will and Ben to dish out their own brand of justice
Boulton and Rawton are called to the scene of a house fire, but that is just the start of their problems as the incident unearths something far more sinister than a scattering of ashes. Police drama, starring Russell Boulter and Libby Davison
