Dan explores a current excavation of one city block revealing exciting new insights into everyday life including graffiti of gladiators scrawled onto the walls by children 2,000 years ago. Kate visits a wealthy house: with its three gardens, winter and summer dining rooms and even its own private bath house, it's clear that this local big wig lived in the lap of luxury. Kate also looks into the terrible living conditions for those at the bottom of the pile as brand new evidence reveals the horrific divide between Pompeii's masters and their slaves
