Festive episode of the drama set in the Lancashire village of Ormston. Arthur gets into the yuletide spirit by playing pranks on son Tom, who is singularly unimpressed, while Deborah looks forward to the fresh start afforded by the new year, after the trauma of losing her baby. After raiding Phyllis and Linda's wardrobes, the pair end up looking like Cinderella's ugly sisters. Arthur discovers that Phyllis's husband has arrived back on the scene and concocts all manner of ways to protect her from his charms. Meanwhile, Deborah is forced to make a difficult decision about a distant relative's unwanted baby. Medical drama, starring James Bolam and Michael French
