With the storm due, Lisa Kelly and Darrell Ward return to lead team Polar to victory, while Art Burke and Todd Dewey set out to prove that they too can beat the conditions by making a delivery
The drivers rush to complete their deliveries before a devastating storm strikes, but Alex's journey takes him over a treacherous stretch of thin ice. Art heads back to Winnipeg after finally making his first delivery of the season, but a wrong turn costs him more than a whole day's driving
The cyclone finally arrives, and the drivers risk their lives by braving driving snow and winds that obscure their visibility, including Lisa on a new route towards Big Trout Lake in Ontario. Art has 450 miles to travel to Deer Lake in knee-deep snow, and discovers that the chains on his tyres are not up to the job
Drivers head out one last time during the spring thaw, Steph Custance slides into trees, while Todd Dewey struggles with a load on a twisty trail. Elsewhere, Art Burke retrieves a heavy bulldozer, Reno Ward's truck dies on the ice and Lisa Kelly receives an emergency call
An intense storm brings record-breaking snowfall to the winter roads. Polar drivers Darrell and Toddattempt to complete their journey, while the rest of the team members fight to survive, stranded in the wilderness with no help in sight and no hope on the horizon. Meanwhile, despite freezing temperatures, the war between VP Express and Polar reaches boiling point after VP's repo mission is thwarted
The truckers fight througha fearsome storm and Art, Todd and Lisa all have to risk their trucks - and their lives - crossing ice that is threatening to buckle under the weight of record snowfalls. As conditions deteriorate, Alex is left running on fumes and in desperate need of a lifeline. Meanwhile, Darrell is fighting a battle of a different kind with his boss, which ends in an ultimatum
VP Express boss Hugh Rowland carries a huge car crusher to St Theresa Point. One of the heaviest of the season, the load scrapes a trail all the way to the remote outpost, riding just 10 inches above the ground. Tired of waiting for Polar Industries to provide him with loads, Darrell decides to take matters into his own hands. Finding a local with a truck to rent, he decides to go it alone and see how many loads he can snaffle from under Polar's nose. His defection leads to further tension in the Polar ranks
Temperatures are on the rise and the ice roads begin to crack, leaving the truckers with a race against time to make sure their rigs and cargo do not sink into the freezing waters. Lisa and Todd tackle a completely untouched route to Polar Hill, one of the most remote destinations on the winter roads, and Art's job is on the line following some stern words from boss Mark
Lisa Kelly and Todd Dewey embark on one of the toughest missions of the season when they tackle an untamed trail dubbed the 'Highway to Hell'. Darrell Ward steals business from under his former boss's nose at Polar Industries, and a crash could mean the end of Alex Debogorski's trucking season
As his new venture picks up more business, Darrell hires his son Reno and takes him on a run to Big Trout Lake to get him accustomed to the winter roads. Meanwhile, Art gets stuck on the same hill that cost him a full day earlier in the season and later jack-knifes at a corner, damaging his truck's bodywork, and Lisa and Todd carrying supplies to an airport construction site
Art gets some unexpected help from Joey Barnes, 'The King of the Obsolete' on a trip north, while Todd and Lisa encounter a road block as they race to keep Polar in the load count competition. Elsewhere, Darrell continues to teach Reno the tricks of navigating the ice road, but his overprotective ways threaten to drive his pupil to distraction
Art, Lisa and Todd head to Fort Severn, Ontario, carrying building materials and equipment, but slick corners and a rapidly melting river crossing threaten to bring the journey to an early end. While making his first solo run, Reno foolishly ignores Darrell's advice to slow down and his speed causes his load to shift on the trailer, leaving it at risk of overbalancing. Meanwhile, VP Express completes as many short-haul deliveries as possible as the season nears its end
The drivers are faced with a long and difficult journey back through merciless winter terrain. Lisa is torn between helping a competitor to venture further north into the Arctic or sticking with her colleagues on the return trip - a decision made more pressing by the dramatic worsening of the conditions
