Early-life: Born Denzel Hayes Washington Jr on December 28, 1954, in Mount Vernon, New York. His father was a minister, his mother a beautician. He's the second of three children. After his parents divorced, Denzel was sent to a military academy, and claims its discipline saved him from a life of crime. On graduating from high school, he studied drama and journalism at Fordham University, after which he decided to concentrate on acting. He went on to study at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.
Career: Early in his career, Washington landed small parts on TV, and made his movie debut in 1981's Carbon Copy. A starring role in St Elsewhere led to bigger projects such as Cry Freedom, Glory (for which he won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar), and Mo' Better Blues. The eponymous role of Malcolm X made him a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood in 1992. Since then, he's starred in Philadelphia, Crimson Tide, The Hurricane, Training Day (picking up a Best Actor Oscar for his role as a crooked cop), American Gangster, The Book of Eli, Crimson Tide, Unstoppable, Flight, 2 Guns and The Equalizer. He continues to act on stage whenever his schedule allows.

Early-life: Angelina Jolie Voight was born in Los Angeles on June 4, 1975 to actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Her brother is the actor James Haven. After her parents separated in 1976, Angelina and her brother lived with their mother. At a young age, Angelina knew she wanted to be an actress and at the age of 11, she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she trained for two years. She went on to appear in a number of music videos before she played her first leading role, in low-budget sci-fi action film Cyborg 2 (1993).
Career: Jolie's star began to rise following appearances in a number of small films in the mid-1990s, including Hackers (1995), Foxfire (1996), True Woman (1997) and George Wallace (1997), a TV movie that won her a Golden Globe. She secured another Golden Globe a year later for her role as supermodel Gia Carangi in Gia (1998). Her big break came in 1999 when she landed a leading role in The Bone Collector (1999). In the same year, she gave an acclaimed performance in Girl, Interrupted, a role that led to her third Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah (Actor) .. Thelma
Born: March 18, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey
Best Known For: Acting and rapping.
Early-life: Born Dana Elaine Owens in Newark, New Jersey, on March 18, 1970, Queen Latifah is the daughter of a teacher and a police officer. Her parents divorced when she was 10. She found her stage name, Latifah, in an Arabic book of names when she was eight. She played on her high school women's basketball team. In the late 1980s, she began beat boxing and her first single, Wrath of My Madness, was released in 1988.
Career: Her debut album, All Hail the Queen, was released in 1989 when she was 19. After she issued her fourth hip-hop album, Order in the Court, she began to sing soul music and jazz standards. She released her first soul/jazz album, The Dana Owens Album, in 2004. She returned to hip-hop in 2008 on the record All Hail the Queen II. Away from music, she began acting in the 1990s in American sitcom Living Single. She went on to have supporting roles in the films House Party 2 (1991), Jungle Fever (1991), Juice (1992), Set It Off (1996), Living Out Loud (1998) and The Bone Collector (1999) and had her own talk show from 1999 to 2001.
