Kurt Russell (Actor) .. Snake Plissken
Born: March 17, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts
Best Known For: A string of major box office hits.
Early-life: Russell was born in 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of Louise Julia (née Crone), a dancer, and Bing Russell, a character actor known as Deputy Clem Foster on Bonanza. Landed a part in the Elvis Presley movie, It Happened at the World's Fair (1963) when he was 10 years old. In 1960, Walt Disney himself signed Russell to a 10-year contract. Once his stint as a child actor ended, he spent the early 1970s playing minor league baseball. In 1979, he gave a classic performance as Elvis Presley in John Carpenter's ABC-TV movie.
Career: He followed with roles in a string of well-received films: Used Cars (1980), Escape from New York (1981), The Thing (1982) and Silkwood (1983). In 1983 he became reacquainted with Goldie Hawn (who appeared with him in The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band (1968). They worked together on Swing Shift and Overboard (1987). During the 1980s, Russell starred in a rash of disappointments: The Best of Times (1986), Big Trouble in Little China (1986) and Winter People (1989), but movies like Tango & Cash (1989), Backdraft (1991) and Tequila Sunrise were big hits. He gave a terrific performance in Tombstone as Wyatt Earp and Stargate. He played against type and had a major hit with Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, and remains a busy character actor.

Best Known For: His numerous big-screen roles
Early-life: Born July 14, 1926, in Kentucky, Stanton, graduated from Lafayette Senior High School. He joined the US Navy in the 1940s and served in Okinawa during World War Two. After being discharged, he became a drama student at the University of Kentucky. He honed his craft in a production of Pygmalion, and later moved to California, where he worked at the Pasadena Playhouse. Stanton toured the States with a male choir, worked in children's theatre, and then returned to California.
Career: Almost 50 years after making his film debut in Tomahawk Trail, he has appeared in more than 150 projects, including Revolt at Fort Laramie, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Have Gun - Will Travel, Rawhide, The Fugitive and The Wild Wild West. He's also featured in cult films Cool Hand Luke, Kelly's Heroes, The Godfather Part II, Alien, Escape From New York, Pretty in Pink, Paris, Texas, Repo Man and The Green Mile. Popped up in Ant and Dec vehicle Alien Autopsy and had a recurring role on US drama Big Love.

Ernest Borgnine (Actor) .. Cabby
Born: January 24, 1917 in Hamden, Connecticut
Best Known For: His forceful personality.
Early-life: Born Ermes Effron Borgnino on January 24, 1917, in Hamden, Connecticut. His parents had emigrated from Italy. After graduating high school, Ernest joined the United States Navy, where he stayed for 10 years until 1945. After completing a course at Randall School of Drama in Hartford, he went on to play a number of roles over four years at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia. His big break came in 1949 when he made his debut on Broadway playing a male nurse in Harvey.
Career: After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a movie career, Borgnine made his film debut in Richer Than the Earth (1951). In 1953, he played Sgt `Fatso" Judson in From Here to Eternity, and he won an Academy Award for his performance as a sensitive butcher in Marty (1955). Other films included Wedding Breakfast (1956), The Dirty Dozen (1967), Ice Station Zebra (1968), The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and Emperor of the North Pole (1973). On the small screen, he starred in the popular TV series McHale's Navy, and the action series Airwolf. He earned an Emmy Award nomination at the age of 92 for his work on the series ER. He died on July 8, 2012, at the age of 95.
