Val Kilmer (Actor) .. Sheriff Tucker
Born: December 31, 1959 in Los Angeles
Best Known For: His barnstorming turn as Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Early-life: Val Edward Kilmer was born on New Year's Eve in 1959 in Los Angeles. His father Eugene was a real estate developer, while mum Gladys stayed at home to raise her three sons. Middle child Val attended Chatsworth High School at the same time as Kevin Spacey and Mare Winningham, and at the age of 17, was the youngest person to be given a place at New York's prestigious Juilliard drama school.
Career: After working on stage, Kilmer got his big break in 1984 comedy Top Secret!, in which he also sang all the songs. After a year spent backpacking through Europe, Kilmer landed the role of Iceman in Top Gun, and his career took off. Films including Willow (in which he met his future wife Joanne Whalley), The Doors, Tombstone, Batman Forever and The Island of Dr Moreau followed. After the failure of Dr Moreau, Kilmer turned his attention to crafting character parts, and won praise from critics for his turns in The Salton Sea and Kiss Kiss, Bang, Bang. Other films include The Bad Lieutenant: Port Call of New Orleans, MacGruber and Kill the Irishman.
Quote: 'When I figured out that to have money you had to work, I knew I couldn't hack a regular job. So I thought acting would be good, because basically you made your own hours, were ridiculously overpaid and got the girls.'
Luke Goss (Actor) .. Damien
Born: September 29, 1968 in London
Best Known For: Being in Bros.
Early-life: Born on September 29, 1968, in Peckham, London, minutes before his twin brother Matt. According to their mum, they were both natural performers from an early age. In 1987, they formed the band Bros with their school friend Craig Logan - Luke was the drummer. The group soon scored a massive hit with the single When Will I Be Famous, while the twins attracted an army of female teenage fans, who dubbed themselves Brossettes.
Career: Even after Logan left the band, Bros continued to enjoy chart success, selling 16 million records worldwide. But by the early 1990s, the hits dried up and they split in 1992 amid rumours the brothers had spent all their earnings. Luke penned a biography called I Owe You Nothing, and continued to make records with a new backing group, Band of Thieves, before deciding to concentrate on acting. He believes his fame was initially a drawback, but his career picked up when he decided to try his luck in America, where Bros had never made an impact. Since then he's appeared in movies including ZigZag, Blade II and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
Quote: On reforming Bros: "The music was OK and the experience was brilliant but a grown man shouldn't do those pop songs again."
Trivia: He has appeared in stage musicals, including Grease.
