Neil Dudgeon (Actor) .. DCI John Barnaby
Born: January 01, 1961 in Doncaster
Best Known For: Being the new Barnaby in Midsomer Murders.
Early-life: Born in Doncaster in 1961. His dad drove a bread delivery van and his mum was an assistant supermarket manager, although they both also performed on the club circuit. Neil credits his own love of acting to a teacher who forced him to read aloud in an assembly _ it was supposed to be a punishment for misbehaving in class, but Neil found he actually enjoyed it. He went to appear in school plays, before studying drama at Rada.
Career: Neil made his film debut in 1987 with an uncredited role in Prick Up Your Ears, and went on to appear in London's Burning on TV the following year. He's worked pretty steadily since then in a wide range of TV shows, although he admits he's most frequently cast as a cop _ he's starred in Inspector Morse, Out of the Blue, Between the Lines, Messiah and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking. Last year it was announced that he would be taking on his most high-profile police role to date when he took over from John Nettles as the star of Midsomer Murders. He has also starred alongside Caroline Quentin in the sitcom Life of Riley.
Quote: On joining Midsomer Murders: "My secret dream is that viewers will switch on, watch it all the way through and not notice there's a new bloke in it."
Trivia: He has starred in a number of dramas on Radio 3 and Radio 4.

Born: January 01, 1970 in Findhorn, Moray
Best Known For: The Royal Today, Heartbeat and Midsomer Murders.
Early-life: Fiona Jane Dolman was born in Findhorn, Moray, on January 1, 1970 to Rosemary and Gordon. She is the youngest daughter of four children. Her father worked in the RAF and he moved his family to Gibraltar when Fiona was 15. In 1993, she made her TV acting debut in Crime Story.
Career: Roles followed for Dolman on the small screen in Strike Force, A Touch of Frost, The Knock and Ultraviolet. In 1998, she joined the cast of Heartbeat playing Jackie Lambert. She went on to have a recurring role in The Royal Today. In 2011, she began playing Sarah Barnaby alongside Neil Dudgeon in Midsomer Murders.
Quote: On working with the Barnaby's dog on Midsomer Murders: 'We have sausages strapped to bags and in pockets so the dog follows you around.'
Trivia: At the age of 16 and 17 years, Dolman won awards at the Gibraltar RAF ladies windsurfing championships.

Best Known For: The Day of the Jackal.
Early-life: Edward Charles Morice Fox was born on April 13, 1937, in Chelsea, west London. He is part of the Fox theatrical dynasty. Edward has two younger brothers - James is also an actor, while Robert is a producer. His mother, Angela, is said to have been the inspiration for Noel Coward's song Don't Put Your Daughter on the Stage Mrs Worthington. Following a spell in the Coldstream Guards, Fox studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Career: Fox was an extra in The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (which featured his brother James), and had a bigger role in 1963's This Sporting Life, the same year he made his TV debut in Suspense. He quickly became famous in the UK thanks to Edward & Mrs Simpson, The Jokers, The Portrait of a Lady, Oh! What a Lovely War, and The Go-Between, but it was The Day of the Jackal in 1973 which brought him international acclaim. Since then, Fox has appeared in A Bridge Too Far, The Duellists, Gandhi, Never Say Never Again, A Passage to India, Lost in Space, Stage Beauty and Oliver Twist. He continues to act on stage.

Born: April 27, 1959 in London
Best Known For: Drop the Dead Donkey and Between the Lines.
Early-life: Neil Joshua Pearson was born on April 27th, 1959, in London. He has a sister and a brother. His parents split when he was five, and he was raised by his mother. While attending Woolverstone Hall, an experimental boarding school, Neil was bitten by the acting bug, and he went on to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama. His first TV appearance came in 1982, and two years later he was sharing the stage with Leonard Rossiter in Joe Orton's drama Loot, where he struck up an acquaintance with the powers that be behind Hat Trick Productions.
Career: Pearson worked with Hat Trick's Jimmy Mulville in comedy series Chelmsford 123 and That's Love, before landing the role of Dave Charnley in the hit comedy Drop the Dead Donkey. Pearson capitalised on his success with the 1992 crime drama Between the Lines. Since then, he has cemented his reputation as a respected actor, with roles in a variety of projects including 1998 drama Rhodes, 2003 sitcom Trevor's World of Sport and A Lump in My Throat, which aired the same year. More recently, Pearson has appeared in All the Small Things.

Best Known For: Drop the Dead Donkey.
Early-life: Haydn was born in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, on January 1, 1957. She played county level tennis before going on to study sociology at the University of Nottingham. She then taught English as a foreign language for five years in Italy at the University of Rome La Sapienza. She became an actress in her mid-twenties. Her first major TV role came in the 1989 BBC miniseries Nice Work.
Career: Gwynne is arguably best known for her role as Alex Pates in Channel 4 sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey, a part she played for two series. She later became a regular in Peak Practice and Mersey Beat. Her other TV credits include Rome, Lewis, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Sherlock, New Tricks, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise and Ripper Street. She has also performed in a number of Royal Shakespeare Company productions.

Best Known For: Playing Little John in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Early-life: Nicholas Brimble was born on July 22, 1944 in Bristol. His father was a schoolteacher and he has two brothers, Ian and Vincent, who have both also become actors. He attended Bristol Grammar School before going on to study Philosophy and English Literature at the University of Sussex, where he got a Master's degree. Nick went on to teach English and Drama at the University of Baghdad but left due to political unrest. He taught at a south London comprehensive school before deciding to try to become an actor.
Career: Brimble started his acting career in theatre, beginning with a job as youth theatre organiser at the Marlowe Theatre and also acting in some of the theatre's plays. He went on to perform in theatre productions by a number of companies. In 1973, he started landing TV roles, starting with Wessex Tales. Following this, he appeared in such TV productions as The Sweeney, The Professionals and Dempsey and Makepeace. His film roles included Sweeney! (1977), Silver Dream Racer (1980) and Who Dares Wins (1982) before he was cast as Little John in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991). Since then, he has appeared in such films as Loch Ness (1996), Seven Days to Live (2000) and A Knight's Tale (2001). Meanwhile, in TV, he has appeared in To Play the King, Ivanhoe, Emmerdale, The Bill and Grantchester.
