Stephen Tompkinson (Actor) .. DCI Banks
Born: October 15, 1965 in Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland
Best Known For: Roles in a number of hit shows.
Early-life: Born in Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland, on October 15, 1965. He was raised a Catholic and considered becoming a priest. He later moved to St Anne's-on-Sea in Lancashire when his bank clerk father was promoted to manager. His mother was a primary school teacher. His grandfather encouraged him to become an actor and, after making his first stage appearance in The Crucible while in the sixth-form, he attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
Career: Tompkinson has rarely been out of work since thanks to radio, stage, TV and film roles. Early parts came in The Manageress, Casualty and Treacle, before he got his first big role playing ruthless reporter Damien Day in acclaimed sitcom Drop The Dead Donkey in 1990. All Quiet on the Preston Front, Chancer and Minder followed, before Brassed Off and Ballykissangel made him a star in 1996. Hollywood agents came knocking, but Tompkinson preferred to stay in the UK to star in Grafters, Mr Charity, Ted and Alice, In Deep, Staying Up and Lucky Jim. He's also had roles in New Tricks, Marian, Again, Prime Suspect: The Final Act, Wild at Heart and Truckers. The drama DCI Banks has become a regular fixture in the schedules.

Trivia: A huge cricket fan, he has stated that if he weren't an actor, he'd be a commentator.

Best Known For: Playing Danny Pink in Doctor Who.
Early-life: Born in 1982 in Handsworth, Birmingham. Samuel decided early on in life that he wanted to be an actor. He attended the Catholic secondary school Stuart Bathurst. Samuel stopped studying A levels after a year and went to Birmingham Theatre School before going on to attend the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. Samuel originated the role of Crowther in the National Theatre's 2004 production of Alan Bennett's The History Boys. He went on to perform the role in the Broadway, Hong Kong, Sydney and Wellington productions, as well as radio and film versions.
Career: Anderson appeared in Sky One's Hex in 2004 and Channel 4's Totally Frank in 2006 and 2007. He played Fingers in the comedy series Gavin & Stacey. From 2007 until 2009, Anderson played Ross Kirk in Emmerdale. He appeared in the TV comedy film Stuck (2007) and had a number of guest appearances in such shows as Doctors, Casualty, Bedlam, Midsomer Murders and Death in Paradise. Anderson played Danny Pink in 11 episodes of Doctor Who in 2014. Since then, he has played DC Vince Grady in DCI Banks, Daniel in Trollied, Patrick in Witless and Leon in Loaded.

Shaun Dooley (Actor) .. Steve Richards
Best Known For: A string of roles.
Early-life: Shaun was born in Barnsley in 1974 to Ann and Denis and went on to study at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester. He made his acting debut in the 1997 short film Groove on a Stanley Knife. In the same year, he had a recurring role on Coronation Street and guest appearances followed in Casualty, Dalziel and Pascoe, Peak Practice and the TV movies Warriors and Shackleton.
Career: Between 2001 and 2004, Dooley played the Rev Tom Stuart in EastEnders. Heavily in demand since then, he has made guest appearances in a number of TV shows, including Foyle's War, Holby City, New Tricks, Murphy's Law, Rosemary & Thyme, The Bill, Midsomer Murders, Red Riding, Hustle, Great Expectations, and South Riding. He has had recurring roles in Five Days, Married Single Other, Exile, Sugartown, Misfits, The Game, and Broadchurch. More recently, he has appeared in Ordinary Lies, This is England '90, and Cuffs. His film credits include Eden Lake (2008), The Awakening (2011) and The Woman in Black (2012).

Maimie McCoy (Actor) .. Tamsin Richards
Best Known For: The Musketeers.
Early-life: Born Mary McCoy in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, in 1980 to Eugene and Barbara, Maimie studied performing arts at London Metropolitan University.
Career: McCoy has guest starred in Doctors, Waking the Dead, Taggart, The Bill and Endeavour. Her first leading role was in the 2009 BBC Three comedy drama Personal Affairs. She also starred in Victoria Wood's one-off drama Loving Miss Hatto. Her big break came in 2014 when she began portraying Milady de Winter in BBC drama The Musketeers.
Quote: 'Milady is bold and brazen and that is not me. But that's the fun bit - becoming someone else.'
Trivia: In the mid-1990s, her father became a minor celebrity as a guest judge on MasterChef.

Best Known For: Playing Maggie in Casualty
Early-life: Born April 20, 1965, in Manchester. She has two older sisters. She became hooked on theatrical life after visiting one of her siblings who, at the time, worked at Manchester's Royal Exchange. After studying fine art and embroidery at college, she landed a job as a dresser the city's Palace Theatre, then began making costumes at Oldham's Coliseum Theatre. There, Susan became interested in trying her hand at acting.
Career: Her first professional role was as Dick Whittington's cat during a pantomime in Oldham, and she hasn't looked back since. Susan's movie debut was 1993's Raining Stones; she made her first TV appearance the same year in Heartbeat. Small roles in Band of Gold and Holby City followed. Her profile was raised by Queer as Folk, Fat Friends and Clocking Off. She also had longer stints in Emmerdale and Bodies, and also an on-off part as an anaesthetist in Casualty. But it was lovelorn barmaid Tanya in Early Doors that really got her noticed. When the sitcom ended, Susan took another role in Casualty, this time as the hugely popular Maggie Coldwell.
Quote: "It's a bit of a shock when people recognise me. I went shopping the other day and this woman came up to me and said 'hello doctor!' I was looking around thinking 'who's she talking to?'"
