Early-life:
John Vivian Drummond Nettles was born on October 11, 1943, in St Austell, Cornwall. He was adopted at birth by a carpenter and his wife, who was a cleaner. John later discovered his biological mother was an unmarried Irish nurse who died of tuberculosis at the age of 28. Despite these humble beginnings, he won a scholarship to study philosophy and history at Southampton University. He trained to be a teacher, but drifted into acting after appearing in a touring version of the play Camus during his time at university.
Career:
While appearing in amateur drama productions, Nettles was spotted by an agent who arranged work for him at the Royal Court Theatre. He made his debut as a standard bearer in Macbeth, opening doors for Alec Guinness. His first movie was The Red, White and Black in 1970. His big break came in 1972's A World At War, followed by a four-year stint in The Liver Birds. Nettles became a household name thanks to Bergerac, which ran for 10 years until 1991. TV projects since include Romeo And Juliet, The Hound of the Baskervilles and Midsomer Murders. He has also provided the narration for such programmes as Airport and The Hunt.

Early-life:
Julian Wyatt Glover was born in London on March 27, 1935. His father was a radio producer, while his mother mixed in literary circles. The acting bug bit him early, and he began appearing regularly with the National Youth Theatre. On leaving school (classmates included Timothy West and Dave Prowse) he started his professional career, eventually spending time with the Royal Shakespeare Company before making his name on TV and in films.
Career:
In 1960, Glover appeared in Androcles and the Lion and The Age of Kings, epic TV productions of classic works. His first movie was Tom Jones in 1963. Later in the decade he featured in numerous films and such classic TV shows as Z Cars, The Avengers, The Saint, Doctor Who and The Champions. Glover has rarely been out of work since. His most memorable parts have come in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, For Your Eyes Only and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. More recently he provided the voice of Aragog in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and has appeared in Waking the Dead, Trial and Retribution, and Game of Thrones.

Early-life:
Born Tallulah Jessica Elina Stevenson in Lewisham, South London, on October 30, 1972, and raised in Brighton, Sussex. She began writing at school, concentrating on creating unusual sci-fi stories. At 14, she joined the National Youth Theatre and four years later moved to London, where she earned a crust as an an actress and comedian. She became friends with actress Katy Carmichael and they went on to work with Simon Pegg on the sketch show Six Pairs of Pants.
Career:
Hynes worked with Pegg and director Edgar Wright on Asylum before they collaborated on cult Channel 4 sitcom Spaced. Hynes was nominated for an Olivier Award for her work in stage play The Night Heron, and garnered a Bafta nomination for 2001 TV film, Tomorrow La Scala! She had a small role in Pegg and Wright's hit 2004 film Shaun of the Dead. Hynes also appeared in The Royle Family, Bob and Rose, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, According To Bex, Pinochet in Suburbia, Confetti, Four Last Songs and Magicians. She made a memorable appearance in two episodes of Doctor Who alongside David Tennant, playing a teacher who won the Time Lord's love. She's since returned to sitcoms with Up the Women (which she also wrote), Twenty Twelve and its spin-off W1A.
