Jack Shepherd (Actor) .. DS Charles Wycliffe
Born: October 29, 1940 in Leeds
Best Known For: Wycliffe.
Early-life: Jack was born in Leeds on October 29, 1940. He studied fine art at Kings College, Newcastle, and during his time in the North East, he was an amateur actor with the People's Theatre. He went on to study acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and the Drama Centre London.
Career: Shepherd worked at the Royal Court Theatre in London from 1965 to 1969, and during the 1970s, he was a regular on TV, appearing in Budgie, The Adventures of Black Beauty, Bill Brand, Crown Court, and Ready When You Are, Mr McGill. From 1977 to 1985, he was a member of Bill Bryden's Cottesloe Theatre Company at the National Theatre. He continued to work on TV, appearing in the likes of Blind Justice, Shoot to Kill, Between the Lines, Lovejoy, High Stakes, The Jury, Silent Witness, All About George, The Nativity, and The Politician's Husband. The peak of his TV popularity came when he played the title role in ITV detective drama Wycliffe from 1993 to 1998. He has also written and directed a number of stage plays.
Quote: 'I got addicted to the creative process when I was at art school, from the age of 18 to 22. I was already writing play sketches and all kinds of things at that time.'
Trivia: Shepherd is an accomplished jazz musician. He won an Olivier award in 1984 for his role in Glengarry Glen Ross.

Early-life: Lucy Ann Cohu was born in Wiltshire in either 1968 or 1970. Her first acting job after graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama was in a production of Pride and Prejudice at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. She made her TV debut in a 1991 episode of Casualty.
Career: Cohu has worked extensively on the small screen and her TV credits include roles in Pie in the Sky, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Peak Practice, Soldier Soldier, Wycliffe, Cape Wrath and Forgiven. Her profile increased in 2005 when she portrayed Princess Margaret in The Queen's Sister. More recently, she has starred in Torchwood: Children of Earth, Marple, Silent Witness, Midsomer Murders, Lewis and Ripper Street.
Quote: 'Television normally can fall into one of three categories; you either play mothers, whores or police officers.'
Trivia: In 2008, Cohu won an Emmy for her performance in Forgiven.

Jack P Shepherd (Director)
Born: January 14, 1988 in Leeds
Best Known For: Playing David Platt in Coronation Street.
Early-life: Jack Peter Shepherd was born in Leeds on January 14, 1988. He has a brother and a sister. He trained to be an actor at Stage 84 theatre school in Bradford. Prior to joining Coronation Street, Jack had roles in Put Out More Fags, Where the Heart Is, This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper, and Clocking Off.
Career: He replaced Thomas Ormson in the role of David Platt on Coronation Street in 2000. During Shepherd's time on the famous cobbles, David has turned from an innocent schoolboy into a scheming sociopath. Shepherd has taken time out from the soap to do theatre work, including Oliver! and West Side Story, and appeared on TV with other Corrie cast members in Ghosthunting with Coronation Street on the Isle of Man.
Quote: 'I've got a bit of OCD, where everything has to be tidy. I'll finish filming and then go home and tidy the house.'
Trivia: Away from acting, Shepherd supports Leeds United. In 2008, he won a British Soap Award for Villain of the year.
