Best Known For:
Peak Practice.
Early-life:
Born September 1, 1964, in Liverpool. He admits to being a badly behaved dreamer at school who, along with his brothers, was continually caned for misbehaving. He couldn't wait to leave and later had a string of dead-end jobs on building sites, in a green-grocer's and at a butcher's shop. After falling out with his boss at the latter and walking out, he decided to try acting, eventually training at Rada.
Career:
Despite never having even seen a play before enrolling at drama school, Mavers was soon snapped up by casting directors. He made his TV debut in a 1989 episode of Boon, and later that year appeared in his first film, Resurrected. Projects such as GBH, Chimera, Blonde Fist, and Body and Soul followed. In 1995, he landed a lead role in Peak Practice, the drama which made him a star. Five years later he quit. Since then, Mavers has appeared in Blue Murder, several episodes of Casualty and on stage, most notably in Bad Blood, a successful touring play co-starring ex-EastEnder Gillian Taylforth.
