First of a two-part drama. A mother returns home to find her baby daughter dead and her nanny missing. Walker and Connor quickly realise the childminder has a long history of identity theft and will be seeking her next job under an assumed name. Sure she is guilty of killing her charge, the detectives act on a tip-off and race to arrest her before she can do any more harm

David Hayman (Actor) .. DCS Michael Walker
Born: February 09, 1948 in Glasgow, Scotland
Best Known For: Playing Chief Superintendent Michael Walker in Trial and Retribution.
Early-life: Born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 9, 1948. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow before starting his acting career at the city's Citizens Theatre. He began to get recognised nationally after starring in A Sense of Freedom (1981).
Career: Hayman's film credits include Sid and Nancy (1986), Hope and Glory (1987) and The Jackal (1997). Between 1997 and 2009, he played Chief Superintendent Michael Walker in the TV crime drama Trial and Retribution. As well as acting, Hayman has also directed film and television productions, including Silent Scream (1990) and The Hawk (1993). More recently, he was cast as Brace in the television series Taboo.
Quote: "There's a lot of my industry I'm very disenamoured with. Like the world, television is run on greed and ego. It's not creative integrity, and that wears thin after a while."
Trivia: He founded the humanitarian charity Spirit Aid.

Early-life: Victoria was born in Dublin in 1974. Her family, headed by her uncle Michael, is one of the richest in Ireland. Victoria was educated at Saint Columbia's College, Dublin, and St George's School, Ascot. After completing an A Level in theatre studies, she studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic theatre school.
Career: In 1997, Smurfit starred in BBC miniseries Ivanhoe, and a year later, she appeared in another period drama, Berkeley Square, before making a name for herself as Orla O'Connell in Ballykissangel. After two series of the BBC drama, the year 2000 saw Smurfit star on the big screen in The Wedding Tackle and The Beach and on the small screen in drama North Square and comedy Cold Feet. Her other credits include About a Boy (2002), Bulletproof Monk (2003), the lead role on TV in Trial & Retribution between 2003 and 2009, and Irish drama The Clinic. More recently, Smurfit has been playing glamorous society queen and vampire slayer Lady Jayne Wetherby in TV horror drama Dracula.

Born: May 09, 1972 in Liverpool
Best Known For: Playing Debbie McGrath in Brookside.
Early-life: Born in 1972 in Liverpool. Her mum was a school secretary and her dad was a civil engineer. At the age of 12, she joined the Liverpool Playhouse Youth Theatre, where she was spotted two years later by the makers of Brookside. The actress was only supposed to appear in three episodes, but her character Debbie proved so popular that she stayed for a year and also appeared in the spin-off miniseries Damon and Debbie.
Career: In 1989, the 16-year-old Kearney starred in Shirley Valentine, but decided to put her career on the backburner so she could concentrate on her education. After taking her A-levels, she studied for a degree at the Rose Bruford drama school in north London. She was still in demand as an actress and her tutors marked her performance in the TV drama The Tides of Life as part of her final assessment. She has regularly acted on stage and in TV series including Liverpool One, Sex, Chips and Rock 'n' Roll, Hope and Glory and The Forsyte Saga. More recently, she has starred in Shameless, Casualty, Silent Witness and Suspects. In December 2014, it was announced that she was joining the cast of Emmerdale.

Early-life: Bhasker was born in Kampala, Uganda, on February 7, 1956. He attended two drama schools but dropped out of both when he landed professional acting roles. He made his TV debut in 1981 BBC Play for Today drama The Garland.
Career: As a highly successful jobbing actor, his acting CV is bursting with guest appearances in a number of TV shows, including Crown Court, Boon, Between the Lines, Birds of a Feather, Only Fools and Horses, My Family, The Last Detective and Doctor Who. His film credits include Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), My Beautiful Launderette (1985), Being Human (1994) and Kidulthood (2006). Since 2011, he has played Rishi Sharma in Emmerdale.
Quote: "A good script sinks in easily as it is written for that character and their dilemmas and wants."
Trivia: In-between acting work, Patel has worked as a teaching assistant.
