David Hayman (Actor) .. DCS Michael Walker
Born: February 09, 1948 in Glasgow, Scotland
Best Known For: Playing Chief Superintendent Michael Walker in Trial and Retribution.
Early-life: Born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 9, 1948. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow before starting his acting career at the city's Citizens Theatre. He began to get recognised nationally after starring in A Sense of Freedom (1981).
Career: Hayman's film credits include Sid and Nancy (1986), Hope and Glory (1987) and The Jackal (1997). Between 1997 and 2009, he played Chief Superintendent Michael Walker in the TV crime drama Trial and Retribution. As well as acting, Hayman has also directed film and television productions, including Silent Scream (1990) and The Hawk (1993). More recently, he was cast as Brace in the television series Taboo.
Quote: "There's a lot of my industry I'm very disenamoured with. Like the world, television is run on greed and ego. It's not creative integrity, and that wears thin after a while."
Trivia: He founded the humanitarian charity Spirit Aid.
Victoria Smurfit (Actor) .. DCI Roisin Connor

Trivia: Smurfit is a patron of children's charity World Vision Ireland.
Best Known For: Ballykissangel, Trial & Retribution and Dracula.
Early-life: Victoria was born in Dublin in 1974. Her family, headed by her uncle Michael, is one of the richest in Ireland. Victoria was educated at Saint Columbia's College, Dublin, and St George's School, Ascot. After completing an A Level in theatre studies, she studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic theatre school.
Career: In 1997, Smurfit starred in BBC miniseries Ivanhoe, and a year later, she appeared in another period drama, Berkeley Square, before making a name for herself as Orla O'Connell in Ballykissangel. After two series of the BBC drama, the year 2000 saw Smurfit star on the big screen in The Wedding Tackle and The Beach and on the small screen in drama North Square and comedy Cold Feet. Her other credits include About a Boy (2002), Bulletproof Monk (2003), the lead role on TV in Trial & Retribution between 2003 and 2009, and Irish drama The Clinic. More recently, Smurfit has been playing glamorous society queen and vampire slayer Lady Jayne Wetherby in TV horror drama Dracula.

Best Known For: Playing Kim in Sugar Rush, and Laura Timmins in Lark Rise to Candleford.
Early-life: Olivia Hallinan was born on January 20, 1984, in Hounslow, west London. The youngest of four sisters, she always dreamed of appearing on stage and got her big break in 1991, starring alongside Cilla Black in a production of Robin, Prince of Sherwood. Her mother runs a drama group in Teddington called All Expressions, and tried to distract Olivia from becoming an actress, but her determination could, apparently, not be shaken.
Career: Hallinan's first TV appearance came with Das Sprechende Grab, quickly followed by roles in Mole's Christmas, Just William, Julia Jekyll and Harriet Hyde, Holby City and My Family. In total, Olivia has around 20 TV and film credits to her name, and has appeared in over 100 stage productions since she was aged seven. In 2005, she was cast as Kim in Sugar Rush, the controversial lesbian drama adapted from the book by Julie Burchill. Despite such success as an actress, Olivia completed her A-levels and a degree at Manchester University, choosing not to go to drama school. Her recent work has included roles in Lark Rise to Candleford, Moving On and Jack Falls.
Quote: On Sugar Rush's lesbian kissing scenes: "We had a week to improvise and get to know each other really well beforehand. I have had kissing scenes before, but nothing like that."
