Greg Davies (Host)

Born: May 14, 1968 in St Asaph, Wales

Best Known For: The Inbetweeners, Man Down and his stand-up tours.

Early-life: Greg was born in St Asaph, Wales, on May 14, 1968 but his parents moved to Wem in Shropshire soon after his birth. Before embarking on a career in showbiz, Greg taught drama and English for 13 years at Sandhurst School in Berkshire and Orleans Park School in Twickenham.

Career: Davies started to get noticed for his comedy as one third of sketch comedy group We Are Klang. His big break came in 2008 when he began playing schoolteacher Mr Gilbert in E4's hugely popular sitcom The Inbetweeners. In 2010, Davies's debut solo stand-up show, Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog, was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award, which led to a sell-out nationwide tour. His second solo tour, The Back of My Mum's Head, was another sell-out national tour. He plays the lead role in popular Channel 4 sitcom Man Down, a series he also co-writes.

Quote: 'I think people find this schoolteacher thing hilarious,' he says, 'I always get asked if I was actually any good. Well, how do I answer that?'

Trivia: At 6ft 8, it is difficult for Davies to blend into a crowd.

Dave Gorman (Guest)

Born: March 02, 1971 in Stafford

Best Known For: Travelling the world meeting other people called Dave Gorman.

Early-life: David James Gorman was born in Stafford on March 3, 1971. He has a twin brother, Nick. Dave studied maths at Staffordshire University, but dropped out in order to perform stage comedy. He became a popular attraction at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but found his niche when he made the transition from traditional stand-up to a more innovative, investigative medium. One of his early shows was based entirely on the lyrics to Ian Dury's song, Reasons to be Cheerful. Dave shot to fame when he accepted a bet by his roommate Danny Wallace that he could not find 54 people with the name Dave Gorman. It formed the basis of a phenomenally successful stage and TV show.

Career: Gorman followed up his breakthrough success with other similarly zany projects. His astrology experiment saw him living his life entirely at the whim of his horoscopes, while his googlewhack adventure saw him travelling the world to meet people whose websites possessed the mysterious 'googlewhack' - returning just one search result on the website Google. In 2003, he was listed as one of the 50 funniest comedy acts in The Observer, and he is a regular performer on Radio 4. He also regularly appeared on the BBC Three show Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, and presents a TV version of his own radio show, Genius. He continues to tour as a stand-up comic.

Quote: 'Live gigs are the best thing in the world. But I do really enjoy the behind-the-scenes stuff, the editing etc involved with TV. But as much as I enjoy those things, I still prefer the live gigs.'

Trivia: Gorman supports Liverpool FC.

Al Murray (Guest)

Born: May 10, 1968 in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire

Best Known For: His Pub Landlord character.

Early-life: Alastair James Hay Murray was born in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire, on May 10, 1968. He wasn't interested in showbusiness as a child - he attended Bedford School as a boarder, where he claims to have led a sheltered life and was only allowed to watch TV once a week. He later studied modern history at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and began performing as part of the university's famous Revue.

Career: Murray's big break came when he was asked to compere Harry Hill's Pub Internationale act at the Edinburgh Festival in 1994. It was there he created his bigoted, sexist and aggressive Pub Landlord character. He's since toured in that guise several times, most notably in 2001, when his stint in London earned him an Olivier Award. Murray has also appeared on TV with Hill, starred in Time Gentleman Please, featured in 2004's Hell's Kitchen, hosted the Discovery Channel's Al Murray's Road to Berlin and had an acclaimed An Audience With... programme in 2005. Other TV projects include Al Murray's Multiple Personality Disorder and Compete for the Meat quiz on the channel Dave.

Sara Pascoe (Guest)

Born: May 22, 1981 in Dagenham

Best Known For: Being a comedian.

Early-life: Sara was born in Dagenham on May 22, 1981, the daughter of Derek Pascoe, vocalist and saxophonist in 1970s pop group Flintlock. Sara went on to study English at the University of Sussex. She began performing stand-up in 2007.

Career: Pascoe first appeared in her own show at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010. Since then, she has toured around the UK and appeared on a number of TV panel shows, including Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and QI. She has also acted in The Thick of It, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Campus, Twenty Twelve and W1A. In 2016, she published Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body.

Quote: 'I don't think there are any subjects you can't joke about because human beings are forgiving of subject matter when we find things funny.'

Trivia: Pascoe is a vegan. In 2014, she was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Comedy Show.
