The first of two programmes in which the explorer travels through Cornwall as its emerges from the first lockdown, discovering the impact of Covid-19 on a part of the country highly reliant on tourism. Simon discovers the ongoing impact of the collapse of the tin-mining industry in the 1980s when he visits one of Britain's poorest estates, and meets the entrepreneurs who sell homemade food on the beach who are struggling to make enough money to last the winter

Born: July 21, 1972 in London

Best Known For: His BBC travel documentaries.

Early-life: Simon was born in London on July 21, 1972. He had a number of jobs after leaving school, including working in a supermarket and a charity shop. In 2001, he began making travel documentaries for the BBC.

Career: Reeve's travel documentaries for the BBC include Meet the Stans, Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, Explore, Indian Ocean, Australia with Simon Reeve, Sacred Rivers with Simon Reeve, Ireland with Simon Reeve and Greece with Simon Reeve. While working as an investigative reporter, he wrote books about Osama bin Laden and the Munich massacre that took place during the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Trivia: After catching malaria, Reeve became an ambassador for the Malaria Awareness Campaign.
