Early-life: Colin Ferguson was born on July 22,1972, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and grew up in Montreal, Hong Kong, England and Connecticut. He has Canadian, British and American citizenship. Ferguson worked in a variety of occupations before making acting his full-time profession. He taught high school when he was only 19, planted 3,000 trees a day in the Canadian north and even worked as a mannequin in store windows. When he worked the assembly line at a factory for General Electric, who owned American broadcaster NBC at the time, he never imagined he would work for the company again as an actor. Ferguson was a member of the Montreal improv group On the Spot, as well as a founding member of The Second City, Detroit.
