Early-life:
Julian Dana William McMahon was born on July 27, 1968, in Sydney, Australia. He is one of three children born to former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon and his wife Lady Sonia. McMahon quit law school after a year, claiming it was boring, and began modelling. He featured in commercials and assignments in Milan, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. His appearance in a jeans advert became so popular he was offered the lead in glossy soap The Power, the Passion, in 1989.
Career:
Following that breakthrough, McMahon spent a year in Home and Away before turning to the stage. He appeared in a musical version of the Summer Bay soap, as well as Love Letters, in Sydney and Melbourne. He made his movie debut in 1992's Wet and Wild Summer! before moving to the US, where he starred in long-running drama Another World. Since then, he's appeared in such shows as Profiler, Charmed, and Nip/Tuck. He has also made the films Magenta and Chasing Sleep and played Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four movies. Since then he's starred in Red, Fire with Fire and Paranoia.
