Best Known For: Playing a sexy cyborg in Star Trek: Voyager.
Early-life: Born Jeri Lynn Zimmerman on February 22, 1968, in Munich to American parents. Her father was in the US airforce, her mother was a social worker. She and her older brother grew up on assorted military bases. At 11, Jeri and her family settled in Kentucky. She attended Northwestern University in Chicago, and while studying won a series of beauty contests.
Career: She came fourth in Miss America in 1990 before moving to Los Angeles. Ryan was hired for a string of TV shows, including Who's The Boss?, The Flash, Top of the Heap, Just Deserts and Dark Skies. In 1997, she was cast as the alien Seven of Nine in cult show Star Trek: Voyager. When the series finished in 2001, Ryan appeared in assorted other projects, including films Dracula 2000 and Down With Love, and TV shows Boston Public, The OC, Boston Legal and Shark. Ryan currently stars in the drama series Body of Proof.
