Early-life:
Jeremy John Wade was born on March 23, 1956 in Ipswich, Suffolk and brought up in Nayland. He first became interested in fishing when he was a child, living near the River Stour. Jeremy got a degree in zoology from Bristol University and a postgraduate teaching certificate in biological sciences from the University of Kent.
Career:
Wade took his first overseas fishing trip in 1982, visiting India's mountain rivers. When he returned to England, he wrote a couple of articles about his experiences for a fishing magazine. During another trip to India in 2005, he came up with the concept for the TV series River Monsters, which he has presented since 2009. His fishing adventures have seen him travel many times to the Congo and Amazon rain forests. Wade made his acting debut in the film Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys (2014), where he appeared as a lamprey expert.
