Early-life:
Melissa Suzanne George was born on August 6, 1976, in Perth, Western Australia. Her mother is a nurse, her father a construction worker. She is the second of their four children. As a child she had jazz, tap ballet and modern dance training, but really excelled at artistic roller skating - she was an Australian national roller skating champion, and won a silver medal at the Junior World Championship in 1991.
Career:
George also modelled during her teens, which led her to be cast as Angel in Aussie soap Home and Away. After leaving in 1996, she appeared in fantasy series Roar alongside Heath Ledger and relocated to LA. She had small roles in Dark City, The Limey, Mulholland Drive, Charmed and Down with Love before having a regular stint in Alias. Her first starring role in a movie was in the Amityville Horror remake. Since then George has starred in a variety of TV and film projects, including 30 Days of Night, In Treatment, Triangle, The Slap and Lie to Me
