Cameron Diaz (Actor) .. Mary Jensen
Born: August 30, 1972 in San Diego
Best Known For: There's Something About Mary.
Early-life: Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30, 1972, in San Diego, the daughter of a Cuban-American father and an Anglo-German mother. She has an older sister called Chimene. Cameron began modelling at 16 and for the next five years lived in such varied locations as Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco, and Paris. Returning to California at the age of 21, she was still modelling when she auditioned for a part in The Mask. To her amazement and despite having no previous acting experience, she was cast as the female lead opposite Jim Carrey.
Career: Over the next three years, she honed her acting skills in such low-budget independent films as The Last Supper, Feeling Minnesota, and Head Above Water. She returned to mainstream films in My Best Friend's Wedding, in which she held her own against veteran actress Julia Roberts. She earned full-fledged star status in 1998 for her performance in the box office smash There's Something About Mary. Since then she's had top billing in such smashes as Charlie's Angels, Gangs of New York and Knight and Day, provided the voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies and TV specials and gained critical acclaim for her performance in Being John Malkovich. She reunited with former boyfriend Justin Timberlake on the big screen in 2011 in Bad Teacher.
Quote: "I would kiss a frog even if there were no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. I love frogs. I'd lick him."
Trivia: In January 2014, Diaz published The Body Book, which offers tips on diet and exercise.
Ben Stiller (Actor) .. Ted Stroehmann
Born: November 30, 1965 in New York
Best Known For: There's Something About Mary.
Early-life: Benjamin Edward Stiller was born on November 30, 1965, in New York, the son of comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. He grew up watching his parents on stage and meeting famous people - so it's little wonder he also went into showbusiness. His first efforts at film-making involved home-grown productions starring himself and actress sister Amy. After dropping out of university, Stiller began his career in theatre, and made his movie debut in Steven Spielberg's drama Empire of the Sun.
Career: While appearing in the award-winning play The House of Blue Leaves in 1989, he made a spoof version of The Color of Money. It was so funny that US satire revue Saturday Night Live bought it and offered Stiller a regular spot. But when he was given his own show it flopped. He then made ends meet with a series of guest roles on TV and saved enough money to make the film Reality Bites, which he both directed and starred in. He also directed Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy, but got his big acting break in 1998's There's Something About Mary. Since then, he's starred in films such as Meet the Parents, The Royal Tenenbaums, Zoolander and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He has also appeared in Night at the Museum, its sequels and seemingly endless comedy hits.
Quote: "If my parents were plumbers, who knows what I would be doing?"
Trivia: Stiller voices Alex the lion in the animated Madagascar films.
Matt Dillon (Actor) .. Pat Healy
Born: February 18, 1964 in New York
Best Known For: A string of movies.
Early-life: Matthew Raymond Dillon was born in New York on February 18, 1964 to Mary and Paul. He is the second of six children and grew up in Mamaroneck, New York. Matt was a teenager when he was spotted by a talent scout and asked to attend a casting call. This led to him landing a role in Over the Edge (1979). He followed this up with roles in Little Darlings (1980), My Bodyguard (1980) and Liar's Moon (1982).
Career: Dillon worked with director Francis Ford Coppola on The Outsiders (1983) and went on to win critical acclaim for his performance in Gus Van Sant's Drugstore Cowboy (1989). He continued to star in popular films throughout the 1990s, with roles in the likes of Singles (1992), To Die For (1995), Wild Things (1998) and There's Something About Mary (1998). In 2002, he wrote, directed and starred in City of Ghosts. He was awarded a Golden Globe for his performance in Crash (2004). In 2015, he will be playing Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke in American TV drama Wayward Pines.
Quote: "One of my greatest fears is not being able to change, to be caught in a never-ending cycle of sameness. Growth is so important."
Trivia: Dillon appeared as a policeman in the music video for Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl. He supports the New York Mets baseball team.
Lee Evans (Actor) .. Tucker
Born: February 25, 1964 in Bristol
Best Known For: Becoming one of the biggest comedy stars of his generation.
Early-life: Born on February 25, 1964, in Bristol, England, the son of Dave Evans, a Welsh nightclub performer; his mother Shirley is Irish. He has an older brother called Wayne. After a spell as a boxer and two years at Thurrock Art College in Essex, he followed his father into entertainment. Lee moved to Scarborough and had a stint as a drummer in a punk band before turning to comedy. His brand of physical humour has drawn comparisons with Norman Wisdom right from the start of the career, but he claims he is not an inspiration. Evans rose to fame during the 1990s with loud, sweaty, energetic stage performances featuring physical comedy.
Career: Evans rose to fame in the 1990s, and won the 1993 Perrier Comedy Award for his Edinburgh Festival Show. He has gone on to become one of Britain's most celebrated comics. In November 2005, he broke the world record for a solo act performing to the biggest comedy audience. He took his Roadrunner stand-up act on the road in 2011 and played more than 50 dates around the UK. He has also had significant big-screen success, with several British TV vehicles and scene-stealing turns in American hits such as There's Something About Mary and Mousehunt. His low-budget comedy Funny Bones is gaining status as a classic and he has been a hit on the West End stage in several roles.
Quote: On being asked for advice for young comics: "Breathe! 'Cause if you're still breathing, you've still got a chance! That's the only advice I can offer because as for the rest... it's a nightmare!"
Trivia: Evans is known for sweating a lot during performances. He claims he showers and changes during each intermission and wears every suit just three times - dry cleaners refuse to handle them.
