Early-life:
Jeremy Merton Sisto was born in 1974 in Grass Valley, California, but at the age of six, when his parents actress mother Reedy and jazz DJ father Richard divorced, he, his mum and older sister Meadow, moved to Chicago, where she and Jeremy began auditioning for theatre roles. While attending the progressive Francis W Parker School, he landed his first acting job in the film Grand Canyon. He then studied at UCLA, and after graduating, began acting full-time.
Career:
Jeremy landed parts in several movies during the early Nineties, including Hideaway and Clueless, working steadily throughout the decade until he was handed the leading role in the TV movie Jesus. More film work followed until 2002, when he played Julius Caesar in the miniseries of the same name. Jeremy continued to hone his craft in a variety of movies, before accepting the part of Billy Chenowith in the hit TV series Six Feet Under. The role made him a household name and since then, he's returned to the big screen with offerings including A Lot Like Love and Waitress. Jeremy has also branched out into producing movies and set up his own company in 2003. He still works extensively in theatre.
