In November 2022, more than two years after the cancellation of Criminal Minds, the long-running series tracing the exploits of FBI profilers assigned to the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) was revived as Criminal Minds: Evolution. A second series welcomes back Zach Gilford as diabolical serial killer Elias Voit aka Sicarius, who has cultivated a network of murderous acolytes to terrorise the BAU team at Quantico, Virginia, spearheaded by Supervisory Special Agent David Rossi (Joe Mantegna). To end the bloodshed, Rossi and colleagues Jennifer Jareau (AJ Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez) must probe the mind of Voit and expose themselves to his insidious influence

Early-life:
Andrea Joy Cook was born in Ontario, Canada, on July 22, 1978. Her father is a teacher, her mum works for a psychiatrist and she has two brothers and a sister. As a child, AJ was a keen dancer, taking part in jazz, ballet and tap competitions, and by the time she was in high school, she was giving lessons to younger kids. At the age of 17, she made the switch to acting - she was reportedly inspired by the film Dirty Dancing - and her first professional role was in a McDonald's commercial.
Career:
Cook made her film debut playing a character billed as 'Pretty Girl #1' in the movie Laserhawk (1999), but her big break came when she was cast as one of Kirsten Dunst's sisters in The Virgin Suicides (1999) . She gained an even bigger following when she starred in the cult US teen drama Higher Ground. Since then, her movie credits include Final Destination 2 (2003) and I'm Reed Fish (2006), but she is best known for playing Jennifer Jareau on Criminal Minds.
