Mike Myers (Actor) .. Shrek
Born: May 25, 1963 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada
Best Known For: Austin Powers and Shrek.
Early-life: Born Michael John Myers on May 25, 1963, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. He's the youngest of three sons whose parents came from Liverpool. His father, Eric, sold encyclopaedias, while his mother, Alice, studied acting before emigrating. Myers still holds a British passport. He began performing at an early age, inspired by watching his father's comedy heroes, such as Peter Sellers, the Monty Python team, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. As a child he also appeared in various adverts and TV show Range Ryder and the Calgary Kid.
Career: Myers was snapped up by Toronto's Second City comedy ensemble on the day of his final high school exam in 1981. He later moved to the UK, where he did stand-up and had a regular slot on The Wide Awake Club. In 1989 he began a six-year stint on Saturday Night Live, where he created Wayne's World. Two hit film versions followed, but it was the three Austin Powers movies which really made him a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood, although his magic touch deserted him in The Love Guru, a film that was panned by critics and struggled at the box office. On a more positive note, he lent his voice to Shrek in all four hugely successful Shrek movies.
Quote: "I still believe that at any time the no-talent police will come and arrest me."
Trivia: He supports Liverpool Football Club - his parents were from Liverpool, UK.
Cameron Diaz (Actor) .. Fiona
Born: August 30, 1972 in San Diego
Best Known For: There's Something About Mary.
Early-life: Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30, 1972, in San Diego, the daughter of a Cuban-American father and an Anglo-German mother. She has an older sister called Chimene. Cameron began modelling at 16 and for the next five years lived in such varied locations as Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco, and Paris. Returning to California at the age of 21, she was still modelling when she auditioned for a part in The Mask. To her amazement and despite having no previous acting experience, she was cast as the female lead opposite Jim Carrey.
Career: Over the next three years, she honed her acting skills in such low-budget independent films as The Last Supper, Feeling Minnesota, and Head Above Water. She returned to mainstream films in My Best Friend's Wedding, in which she held her own against veteran actress Julia Roberts. She earned full-fledged star status in 1998 for her performance in the box office smash There's Something About Mary. Since then she's had top billing in such smashes as Charlie's Angels, Gangs of New York and Knight and Day, provided the voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek movies and TV specials and gained critical acclaim for her performance in Being John Malkovich. She reunited with former boyfriend Justin Timberlake on the big screen in 2011 in Bad Teacher.
Quote: "I would kiss a frog even if there were no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. I love frogs. I'd lick him."
Trivia: In January 2014, Diaz published The Body Book, which offers tips on diet and exercise.
Eddie Murphy (Actor) .. Donkey
Born: April 03, 1961 in New York
Best Known For: Beverly Hills Cop.
Early-life: Born Edward Regan Murphy on April 3, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York. His parents divorced when he was three, and his father, a police officer and amateur comedian, died five years later. His mother remarried, and the family moved to Long Island. Eddie took an early interest in comedy, idolising Richard Pryor. By the age of 15 he was performing professionally, but his education suffered and he had to repeat a year. He later enrolled in college and worked in a shoe shop while continuing his comedy career.
Career: In 1980, Murphy became a regular on comedy show Saturday Night Live, and was a huge hit with viewers. At 21, he received his first major film role in box-office smash 48 Hours, followed by the equally successful Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop and its sequels, and Coming to America. However, his 1989 directorial debut, Harlem Nights, was a flop. His popularity received a big boost thanks to The Nutty Professor in 1996. Murphy has since appeared in that film's sequel, two Dr Dolittle movies, Bowfinger, The Haunted Mansion, Dreamgirls and lent his voice to Donkey in four Shrek films - becoming an unlikely family-friendly star along the way. He's also appeared in several flops, including The Adventures of Pluto Nash and Norbit.
Quote: "The advice I would give to someone is to not take anyone's advice."
Trivia: As of 2014, his films had grossed $6.6billion worldwide.
Antonio Banderas (Actor) .. Puss in Boots
Born: August 10, 1960 in Málaga, Andalucia, Spain
Best Known For: A string of magnificent action-movies.
Early-life: Born José Antonio Domínguez Banderas in Málaga, Andalucia, Spain, on August 10, 1960. His father was a policeman with the Spanish Civil Guard and his mother was a teacher. He wanted to play football professionally and was the star of his school team until he was 14, when he broke his foot. He studied acting at the School of Dramatic Art in Málaga, and made his debut at a small theatre in the town. In 1981 he moved to Madrid to pursue his acting career.
Career: In 1992, Banderas made his Hollywood debut with The Mambo Kings. Because he didn't then speak English, his dialogue was taught to him phonetically. He shot to international fame with his sensitive performance as Tom Hanks' lover in Philadelphia, then played opposite Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire in 1994. He established himself as one of Hollywood's leading men after co-starring with Madonna in Evita in 1996. In 1998 he won acclaim for his performance in Zorro, opposite Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and later returned to the role in The Legend of Zorro. In 1999 he made his directorial debut in Crazy in Alabama and showed his comic ability as the voice of Puss in Boots in the Shrek franchise and its spin-off. He is a hugely busy actor.
Quote: "I don't believe in careers, I just picture myself always as one of those old actors from the 19th century who go from village to village in their repertoire."
Trivia: In 2010, Banderas received an honorary doctorate from the University of Malaga.
Justin Timberlake (Actor) .. Artie
Born: January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee
Early-life: Justin Randall Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee. He has two half-brothers, Jonathan and Steven. Music was his passion from an early age and he famously appeared on the TV show Mickey Mouse Club, alongside Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling and JC Chasez, when he was eight years old. At school he excelled in science and struggled in maths, but preferred to concentrate on his showbiz career rather than academic success.
Career: In 1995, Timberlake, then just 14, and Chasez joined the boy band N'Sync, and had huge success with a string of number one singles and albums. Timberlake eventually went solo, and his debut album Justified was an acclaimed success; he's since released the albums FutureSex/LoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience. He has several acting credits to his name, including The Social Network, Shrek the Third, Bad Teacher and Trouble with the Curve.

Born: May 29, 1959 in Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk
Best Known For: Being Madonna's pal.
Early-life: Born Rupert James Hector Everett on May 29, 1959, in Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk. He has an older brother called Simon. Rupert grew up in privileged circumstances - his father was a Major in the British Army - but was a rebel. At seven, he began attending Ampleforth College in Yorkshire, where he learned to play the piano. He was expelled from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London for insubordination, but landed himself regular work at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre, performing in such productions as Don Juan and Heartbreak House.
Career: Everett made his TV debut in The Manhood of Edward Robinson; his first film role came a year later in A Shocking Accident. Following the success of Another Country (both on stage and on film) and Dance with a Stranger in the 1980s, Everett took the potentially risky decision to openly declare his homosexuality. He enjoyed a successful stint as a model and published two novels before playing Julia Roberts' gay confidant in 1997's My Best Friend's Wedding, which helped revitalise his career. Since then he's appeared in such movies as Shakespeare in Love, An Ideal Husband, Stardust, St Trinians and Wild Target.
Quote: "I'm a sex machine to both genders. It's all very exhausting. I need a lot of sleep."

Eric Idle (Actor) .. Merlin
Born: March 29, 1943 in South Shields, Tyne and Wear
Best Known For: Monty Python.
Early-life: Born on March 29, 1943, in South Shields, Tyne and Wear. His father, an RAF veteran, died in a car crash on Christmas Eve when he was two years old. When his mother struggled to cope with raising him and keeping down a full-time job as a health visitor, he was enrolled at the Royal Wolverhampton School as a boarder. Idle later studied English at Cambridge University, where he became a member of the Footlights entertainment group, appearing alongside Bill Oddie and Tim Brooke-Taylor.
Career: Idle's first TV appearance came in Jonathan Miller's 1966 adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. A year later he featured alongside Terry Jones and Michael Palin in Do Not Adjust Your Set. In 1969 the trio joined forces with John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Graham Chapman to make sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus. The programme ended in 1974, but the team went on to make several films, including The Holy Grail, on which hit musical Spamalot - written by Idle - is based. They also reteamed in 2014 for a final, sell-out series of gigs at London's O2. Other projects include Rutland Weekend Television, The Rutles, Nuns on the Run, Splitting Heirs and voicing Merlin in Shrek the Third. He also wrote and sang the theme for hit sitcom One Foot in the Grave.

In 1960, he began studying law at Cambridge and joined the famous Footlights entertainment troupe, where he met Graham Chapman.
Career: Cleese's showbiz break came with The Frost Report. By 1969, he and Chapman were working alongside Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam on Monty Python's Flying Circus, which made them household names.
