That led him to study acting at Seattle's Cornish Institute.

He became a 1990s answer to Indiana Jones after The Mummy struck box office gold in 1999. He has also appeared in acclaimed dramas Gods and Monsters, The Passion of Darkly Noon, and comedy remake Bedazzled. He scored another hit with The Mummy Returns, in 2001, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008. His eclectic CV also includes The Quiet American, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Crash, Journey to the Center of the Earth, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and Extraordinary Measures.
