Early-life: Zachary Levi Pugh was born on September 29, 1980, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He's the middle child of three siblings, sandwiched between a younger and older sister. His family travelled throughout his childhood, before settling down in Ventura, California. Levi attended Buena High School in these sunnier surroundings, and continued to indulge in his dream vocation: acting. His precocious talents lit up productions of Grease, The Outsiders, Oliver, The Wizard of Oz and Big River at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Centre. It was only a matter of time before the dazzling lights of Hollywood beckoned.
Career: Levi's big break came with a supporting role in Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie in 2002 and he followed this up with a popular turn as Kipp Steadman in the sitcom Less Than Perfect. After starring in a pilot that wasn't picked up by ABC, he secured a number of roles in TV films, before finally landing the lead role of Chuck in 2007. In a stylish update to Gerry Anderson's Joe 90, Chuck Bartowski is downloaded with sensitive information that turns him into a formidable - but unwilling - sleuth. This has opened up new doors for the fledgling star: he appeared on the big screen in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel in 2009, and lent his voice to Disney's Tangled, a loose adaptation of Rapunzel. More recently, he's turned his hand to music, performing a duet with Mandy Moore at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony.

Best Known For: Being a prolific character actor.
Early-life: Born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London on August 5, 1963, Mark is the son of an Austrian mother and an Italian father. His father left home soon after his birth and he was raised by his mother. She had has name changed by deed poll when he was young. He studied in Munich with the intention of becoming a lawyer but after a year, he returned to London to study English and drama at Royal Holloway, University of London. He went on to develop his acting craft at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Career: Strong made his TV debut in a 1989 episode of After Henry and followed this up with a number of guest roles in the likes of The Bill, Inspector Morse, Prime Suspect 3 and Kavanagh QC. In 1996, he had a starring role in acclaimed BBC miniseries Our Friends in the North. Since then he has appeared in dozens of TV shows and featured in a number of films, including Revolver (2005), Syriana (2005), RocknRolla (2008), Kick-Ass (2010), Robin Hood (2010), Green Lantern (2011), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), John Carter (2012) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). In 2013, Strong played a detective in short-lived AMC crime drama Low Winter Sun, reprising the lead role he played in the original 2006 British miniseries.

Born: April 24, 1964 in Cotonou, Benin, West Africa
Best Known For: Gladiator.
Early-life: Djimon Gaston Hounsou was born on April 24, 1964, in Cotonou, Benin, West Africa, the son of Albertine and Pierre Hounsou. He emigrated to Paris at the age of 13 with his brother, Edmond, and moved to the US in 1990. A year before obtaining his college degree he dropped out of school. He lived on the streets for a while until he was discovered by fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who made him a model, leading him to pursue acting roles. Hounsou's film debut was in the 1990 Sandra Bernhard film Without You I'm Nothing, and he had TV parts on Beverly Hills, 90210 and ER and a guest starring role on Alias.
Career: Hounsou received wide critical acclaim and a Golden Globe Award nomination for his role as Cinqué in the 1997 Steven Spielberg film Amistad. He gained further notice as Juba, in the 2000 film Gladiator. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for In America, in 2004, becoming the first black African to be nominated for an Oscar. In 2006, he won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Blood Diamond; he received Broadcast Film Critics Association, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Academy Award nominations for this performance. His recent work includes The Tempest, Special Forces, Baggage Claim and Guardians of the Galaxy.
