Early-life: Thomas Cruise Mapother IV was born in New York on July 3, 1962. His mother was a teacher, his father, whom Cruise later described as "abusive", was an electrical engineer. He has three sisters. Cruise spent part of his childhood in Canada before returning to the US after his parents separated. While at high school, Tom caught the acting bug and abandoned his plans to enter the priesthood. At the age of 18, he returned to New York, where he landed his first film role in Endless Love.
Career: Within five years of his big-screen debut, Cruise was one of the hottest actors of his generation, having starred in the likes of Risky Business and Top Gun. The likes of Rain Man, The Color of Money, Interview with the Vampire and Days of Thunder followed. He has also turned his hand to producing and made the smart move of taking a share of several of his film's profits, making him one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. Recent hits include Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher, Oblivion and Edge of Tomorrow. He has been Oscar-nominated three times, for his performances in Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire and Magnolia, but has yet to win. His next major film is Mission: Impossible 5.

Jennifer Connelly (Actor) .. Penny Benjamin

Best Known For: A Beautiful Mind.
Early-life: Jennifer Lynn Connelly was born in New York on December 12, 1970 to Ilene and Gerard. Jennifer began modelling for print advertisements from a young age and her mother took her to acting auditions. Her introduction to movie-making was playing an aspiring dancer in Sergio Leone's gangster epic Once Upon a Time in America (1984). While filming Once Upon a Time in America, she also made her first small-screen appearance in an episode of British TV series Tales of the Unexpected.
Career: Connelly's first leading role was in Phenomena (1985), where she played a girl who could communicate with insects. She followed this up with Seven Minutes in Heaven (1985). She first came to the public's attention after starring in Jim Henson's Labyrinth (1986). She went on to star in a number of films during the 1980s and 1990s, including Some Girls (1988), The Rocketeer (1991), Mulholland Falls (1996) and Inventing the Abbots (1997). More recently, Connelly gave an Oscar-winning performance in A Beautiful Mind (2001) and featured in Hulk (2003), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), The Dilemma (2011), Salvation Boulevard (2011), Winter's Tale (2014) and Noah (2014).

Miles Teller (Actor) .. Lt. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw
Born: February 20, 1987 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania
Best Known For: Rabbit Hole, the Divergent movies and Fantastic Four.
Early-life: Miles Alexander Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, on February 20, 1987 to Merry, a real estate agent, and Mike, a nuclear power plant engineer. He has two older sisters, Erin and Dana. Because of his father's career, he moved around a lot as a child, residing in Florida, New Jersey and Delaware. Miles went on to study at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he studied method acting.
Career: Teller appeared in a number of short films before making his movie debut in Rabbit Hole (2010) alongside Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart. Roles followed in Footloose (2011), Project X (2012), The Spectacular Now (2013), Divergent (2014) and Whiplash (2014). More recently, he has starred in Insurgent (2015) and Fantastic Four (2015).

Trivia: Teller was a drummer in a church youth group band. A serious car accident in 2007 left Teller with multiple scars on his face and neck.

Best Known For: His barnstorming turn as Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Early-life: Val Edward Kilmer was born on New Year's Eve in 1959 in Los Angeles. His father Eugene was a real estate developer, while mum Gladys stayed at home to raise her three sons. Middle child Val attended Chatsworth High School at the same time as Kevin Spacey and Mare Winningham, and at the age of 17, was the youngest person to be given a place at New York's prestigious Juilliard drama school.
Career: After working on stage, Kilmer got his big break in 1984 comedy Top Secret!, in which he also sang all the songs. After a year spent backpacking through Europe, Kilmer landed the role of Iceman in Top Gun, and his career took off. Films including Willow (in which he met his future wife Joanne Whalley), The Doors, Tombstone, Batman Forever and The Island of Dr Moreau followed. After the failure of Dr Moreau, Kilmer turned his attention to crafting character parts, and won praise from critics for his turns in The Salton Sea and Kiss Kiss, Bang, Bang. Early-life: Jonathan Daniel Hamm was born in March 1971 in Missouri. His parents split up when he was two, and he was raised by his mother until her death from cancer when he was 10. He studied theatre at college, but took jobs as a waiter and a teacher before moving to LA in 1995. It took five years of hard graft before Hamm landed his first TV role, as a firefighter in the TV series Providence.
Career: In 2001, Hamm was asked to feature in a play, which then evolved into the critically acclaimed Kissing Jessica Stein. Around the same time he landed a small role in the comedy Space Cowboys. A series of recurring TV roles in shows such as Providence, The Division, What About Brian and The Unit boosted his CV, before he finally landed the role of Don Draper in Mad Men. In 2008, Hamm won the Golden Globe for his performance in the period drama. His film credits include The Day the Earth Stood Still, A Single Man, Sucker Punch, Friends with Kids and Million Dollar Arm. On the small screen, he has also starred in Black Mirror.
