Early-life:
Kristen Anne Bell was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan, on July 18, 1980 to Tom and Lorelei. In 1993, Kristen played a banana and a tree in a Detroit theatre's production of Raggedy Ann and Andy. She went on to appear in a number of newspaper and TV commercials and began taking private acting lessons. In 2001, she left the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University to play a role in short-lived Broadway musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
Career:
Bell relocated to Los Angeles in 2002 and made guest appearances in a number of TV shows, including The Shield, American Dreams, Everwood and Deadwood. Her big break came in 2004 when she landed the title role in TV drama Veronica Mars. It ran for three seasons, clocking up 64 episodes. A film based on the series emerged in 2014. Her movie credits include Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), When in Rome (2010), Get Him to the Greek (2010) and The Lifeguard (2013). She voiced the main character, Princess Anna of Arendelle, in the hugely popular Frozen (2013).
