Simon Rimmer (Presenter)
Tim Lovejoy (Presenter)
Born: March 28, 1968 in Northwood, Middlesex
Best Known For: Hosting Soccer AM on a Saturday morning for over a decade
Early-life: Tim was born in Middlesex in 1968 and became a die-hard Chelsea fan at an early age. He always hoped for a career in sport and presenting, and as a teenager began sending out letters to production companies looking for work. For a time he worked in music as a merchandise manager for touring bands.
Career: After starting out as a VJ on MTV UK, Tim moved to the Big Breakfast, where he worked his way up from researcher to producer of the show. From there, he got the Soccer AM job in 1996, and continued to host it with Helen Chamberlain, as well as producing it, for 11 years. After leaving, he moved to BBC Radio Five Live before settling at Something For The Weekend, the Sunday breakfast show he hosts with Louise Redknapp and chef Simon Rimmer. He also launched online project Channel Bee.
Quote: "I did not choose Something For The Weekend over Soccer AM. I love doing both. However I just turn up and present STFW whereas with Soccer AM I worked my nuts off every day writing and producing it. If I carried on doing Soccer AM I would not be able to develop my other ideas."
Mark Addy (Guest)
Born: January 14, 1964 in York
Best Known For: The Full Monty.
Early-life: Born Mark Addy Johnson on January 14, 1964, in York. His father is a glazier at York Minster. During his teens, Mark spent three weeks doing work experience backstage at the city's Theatre Royal and loved it so much, he stayed on in a part-time role; it was then that his dreams of becoming an actor began. "I saw how it all worked, and it fascinated me," he claims. But it was Imelda Staunton who eventually pushed him in the right direction. Addy met her while she was working at the theatre and she gave him the address of her old drama school, Rada. He applied, auditioned, and was accepted.
Career: After graduating, Addy returned to act at York's Theatre Royal and also performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Hull Truck Theatre Company. Addy appeared in The Bill, A Very Peculiar Practice, Heartbeat and The Thin Blue Line before landing his big break in 1997's The Full Monty, after being recommended for a role by playwright John Godber. Projects since include Jack Frost, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, A Knight's Tale, The Time Machine and Around the World in 80 Days. He also starred in US sitcom Still Standing and ITV comedy drama Bonkers. Other projects include the Red Riding trilogy, Barney's Version, Robin Hood, Game of Thrones, Trollied and Atlantis, and he continues to be in demand for stage work.
Quote: "We didn't think Full Monty would play outside Yorkshire. We thought that people in London wouldn't be interested. I've met people from Peru who have seen it. It was really popular in Japan."
Trivia: He's been married to Kelly Johnson since 1996 and shares three children with her.
Denise Van Outen (Guest)
Born: May 27, 1974 in Basildon, Essex
Best Known For: The Big Breakfast.
Early-life: Born Denise Kathleen Outen on May 27, 1974, in Basildon, Essex. A former child actress, van Outen went to a local dance school. After doing some modelling she began auditioning for dramas, but found it difficult to continue with her education. She enrolled at theatre school and, because her parents couldn't afford the fees, paid for it herself by appearing in small roles on TV and stage.
Career: Van Outen became a household name and lads mag favourite thanks to spells on The Big Breakfast and sitcom Babes in the Wood. Films such as Tube Tales and Love, Honour and Obey met with a lukewarm reception. Her stage work has been better received. She wowed the critics with her performance in Chicago, both in London and New York. Other West End roles include Tell Me on a Sunday, Rent Remixed, and Legally Blonde. She co-hosted Grease: You're the One that I Want for NBC in America in 2007, but was forced to take elocution lessons because the American audience did not warm to her Essex accent. Van Outen had better luck when she appeared on the panel of BBC1's Any Dream Will Do! which was casting Joseph in a new production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She reunited with former Big Breakfast colleague Johnny Vaughan in 2008 as a co-host of the breakfast show on Capital Radio, but she quit a few months later half-way through her contract. In 2012, she partnered with professional dancer James Jordan on Strictly Come Dancing.
Quote: "A lot of people probably think that I am outrageous in my ways but it's just fun. I often feel like a gay man trapped in a woman's body."
Trivia: She has designed fashion collections for the website, Very.
