John Travolta (Actor) .. Vic Deakins
Born: February 18, 1954 in New Jersey
Best Known For: Saturday Night Fever.
Early-life: John Joseph Travolta was born on February 18, 1954, in Englewood, New Jersey. He is the youngest of six children. His father owned a tyre-repair shop. Travolta made his stage debut in an amateur production of Who'll Save the Ploughboy? and enjoyed the experience so much, his mother enrolled him in acting, singing and dancing lessons. He decided he wanted to be a musical comedy star, quit school at 17 and landed jobs on stage in the musicals Grease and Over Here!
Career: Travolta eventually moved to Los Angeles to further his acting career. His big break came with sitcom Welcome Back Cotter; he also made an early movie appearance in Carrie. Saturday Night Fever and the film version of Grease proved he was a major force to be reckoned with. More big-screen outings followed but, despite the success of Look Who's Talking, a string of flops in the 1980s meant he fell out of favour until Quentin Tarantino cast him in Pulp Fiction in 1994. He's since made various hits, including Swordfish, Primary Colors and Get Shorty. Over the past few years he's appeared in Wild Hogs, Hairspray, From Paris with Love and The Taking of Pelham 123. He remains an A-list star.
Quote: 'I have fame on the level of a Marilyn Monroe or an Elvis, but part of the reason I didn't go the way they did was because of my beliefs.'
Trivia: Wed actress Kelly Preston in 1991.
Christian Slater (Actor) .. Riley Hale
Born: August 18, 1969 in New York
Best Known For: Playing renegade Clarence Worley in True Romance.
Early-life: Christian Michael Leonard Hawkins was born August 18, 1969, in New York, to soap actor Michael Hawkins and casting agent Mary Jo Slater. He had his first taste of showbusiness at the age of seven, appearing in American soap opera The Edge of Night in 1976. He went on to hone his craft in several Broadway shows in the 1980s. His first major movie role was in The Legend of Billie Jean in 1985.
Career: Cult movies Heathers and Pump Up The Volume helped boost his profile, while blockbuster Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves proved he had star appeal. An avid Trekkie, he realised a personal dream in 1991 when he landed a cameo in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Kuffs failed to impress critics, but True Romance, Interview with the Vampire, Broken Arrow, Hard Rain and Very Bad Things helped his career no end. By the turn of the millennium, his appeal was starting to wane in Tinseltown, and although he gave impressive turns in TV hits Alias and The West Wing, movie projects such as Windtalkers, Churchhill: The Hollywood Years and Alone in the Dark failed to impress. On stage he has appeared in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Glass Menagerie. He is still working hard in Hollywood, however, and his recent films include Slipstream, He Was A Quiet Man, Love Lies Bleeding and Dolan's Cadillac. He returned to the small screen in 2011 in the American sitcom Breaking In.
Quote: 'People need something to fill their papers, and I'm happy to provide.'
Trivia: In 1997, he was sentenced to three months in jail for assault.
Samantha Mathis (Actor) .. Terry Carmichael

Born: November 18, 1952 in London
Best Known For: Being an underrated star.
Early-life: The son of Jamaican parents, Delroy George Lindo was born on November 18, 1952, in London and grew up in Lewisham until his teens, when he and his mother moved to Toronto, Canada. They then headed to the US, where Lindo graduated from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He landed his first film role, that of an army sergeant, in More American Graffiti in 1979, but did not appear in another film for 10 years. In the meantime, he worked on stage and in 1982, debuted on Broadway in Master Harold and the Boys. In 1988, Lindo earned a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Harold Loomis in Joe Turner's Come and Gone.
Career: Director Spike Lee gave Lindo's career a boost by casting him as the manic-depressive numbers boss Archie in Malcolm X in 1992. Lindo went on to appear as patriarch Woody Carmichael in Lee's semi-autobiographical comedy Crooklyn two years later. He landed major supporting roles in Get Shorty, Clockers and Feeling Minnesota. In 1997, he played an angel opposite Holly Hunter in Danny Boyle's offbeat romantic fantasy A Life Less Ordinary and another mobster with a heart in Romeo Must Die. Other hits include Heist, The Cider House Rules, Gone in 60 Seconds and Domino. He also featured in American crime drama The Chicago Code, which ran for one season in 2011. He continues to perform on stage on both sides of the Atlantic.
