Early-life:
Lucy Speed was born in Croydon in 1976. She has an older brother, Dan. As a child, she loved ballet and when a teacher recognised her potential, Lucy's parents acquired an agent. She attended a theatre group school alongside future co-star Nigel Harman, and enjoyed two terms at the Italia Conti Academy. During the next few years, Lucy appeared in an array of commercials, TV series and theatre roles.
Career:
Lucy landed her big break aged 17 with the role of Natalie Price in EastEnders. She remained with the soap for just over a year, before making appearances in the films England, My England, Keep the Aspidistra Flying and Shakespeare in Love. She continued to work on TV too, appearing in Dangerfield, Holby City, Love Soup and the US series Unsolved Mysteries. In 1999, Lucy rejoined the cast of EastEnders to reprise her role as Natalie, eventually bowing out in 2004. In 2007, she joined the cast of The Bill.

Early-life:
Born on November 24, 1963, in Elephant and Castle, London. She was raised by her mother Val, a solicitor's receptionist, after her father walked out on them; she met him again when she was 45. Thanks to her performances at the Italia Conti Stage School, she was encouraged to pursue a showbusiness career by her mum. At 11, she won a role in the stage production Annie, appeared in the TV drama Ballet Shoes and made the schools programme A Place Like Home.
Career:
Maxwell's first big break came in the early 1980s, when she was picked to front youth programme No Limits. She also provided the voice of Kira in 1982's cult movie The Dark Crystal. A role in the film Remembrance followed, as did TV series Splash. She became a household name while appearing alongside Russ Abbot and Les Dennis in their comedy series. Her popularity led to her own show, and in 1993 she moved to America. Maxwell landed the role of Daphne in Frasier but, after criticising the scripts, was replaced by Jane Leeves. She returned to the UK where she worked on stage and appeared in In Deep, before joining The Bill as Sam Nixon in 2002. She has appeared as a regular contributor on Loose Women since 2009.

Early-life:
Chris almost spent his life working on the water in the family boat business. After leaving school at the age of 16, he began an apprenticeship but quickly realised the work wasn't for him and set his sights on becoming an actor. A family friend rang him with news of a scholarship at a London drama school and he passed an audition, working as a cleaner to pay his way.
Career:
After working as a jobbing actor and touring Africa with a theatre group, he wrote to the producers of a documentary called Desperately Seeking Stardom. For three months a camera crew followed him to castings and auditions. By the time the show finished he had won a part in a film (which he couldn't do as he didn't have a work permit) and received an offer of marriage! He was cast as a villain The Bill, impressed bosses, and landed the part of Mickey Webb in the series.

Early-life:
Amita Emmanuelle Dhiri was born Brighton on July 6, 1966. She has two younger brothers, Viney and Sanjay. Her mother is French and her father is a Ugandan Indian who was expelled from the country by Idi Amin. She speaks fluent French, took singing and dancing lessons from an early age, and is proficient in ballet and modern dance. Before studying at the London Drama Centre, she sang in a cabaret group, doing Tina Turner impressions.
Career:
Started out in theatre, most notably in Twelfth Night in Bedford. Her first TV appearance was as Milly in 1996's This Life. The drama about young lawyers became a huge hit and she, along with co-stars Daniela Nardini, Jack Davenport and Andrew Lincoln, were hailed as part of an exciting new generation of British actors. She says: 'Milly has helped me win roles that aren't written with Asian actresses in mind. But it's always going to be difficult to get equal treatment.' Dhiri then took guest roles in Casualty and McCallum, before going back to the stage. In 1999, she returned to TV in nuclear disaster drama The Last Train. More recently, she has starred in Silent Witness, Judge John Deed, Holby City, The Bill and Talking to the Dead.

Early-life:
Alex Walkinshaw was born in Barking, Essex, on 5 October 1974. A keen swimmer as a child, he used to train five days a week and compete in various competitions, finding it helped his asthma. An energetic, extroverted child, he studied drama as an outlet for his creativity. After studying drama at his secondary school, Alex soon found he had a real talent and joined a Saturday drama class. Encouraged by his teachers, Alex was elated to be accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School and later the London Dance Studios.
Career:
His first TV appearance was at the age of 12 as an extra in Grange Hill. From 1992 to 1993 he appeared in the sitcom Side by Side. He first appeared in The Bill as a guest star in 1992, 1993 and 1995, before joining as a regular cast member in 1999. He played PC Dale Smith, better known as 'Smithy'. He left the show in 2001, only to return in 2003 when his character was promoted to Sergeant. After a spell in Waterloo Road, Walkinshaw joined the cast of Casualty in 2012 as senior staff nurse Adrian Fletcher. He took his character to Holby City in August 2014.

Early-life:
Gary Edward Lucy was born in Chigwell, Essex, on 27 November, 1981, to parents Rosemary and Gary Sr. From a very early age he loved football and has been a lifelong Arsenal fan. He showed a lot of natural flair as a player during his schooling, but despite trying out for both Tottenham Hotspur and Watford, he decided to pursue acting.
Career:
Gary made his screen debut in Sky One's Dream Team back in 1997, but it was his performance as Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks that shot him to fame two years later. The character was at the centre of several important plots, including a controversial male rape storyline, and he became a firm favourite with fans. In 2002 he moved to ITV1 to appear in three seasons of the glossy drama Footballers' Wives alongside Gillian Taylforth and Zoe Lucker. The feature-length Ray Winstone drama She's Gone followed in 2004, and a year later joined the cast of The Bill. In 2010, he finished runner-up in the fifth series of Dancing on Ice. In 2012, he joined the cast of EastEnders as Danny Pennant. He stayed with the show until February 2014.
