In the first of a six-part story centring on two brothers, a man is badly beaten in a street fight outside the busy E1 bar. Smithy and Callum break up the skirmish and encounter bar owner Jason Devlin, who reveals a vicious streak and manages to rile the officers with his smug air of self-confidence. They entertain doubts about his innocence but are intrigued when he implicates his own brother in the disturbance - without acknowledging the relationship

Alex Walkinshaw (Actor) .. Sgt Dale Smith
Born: October 05, 1974 in Barking, Essex
Best Known For: Playing Smithy in The Bill.
Early-life: Alex Walkinshaw was born in Barking, Essex, on 5 October 1974. A keen swimmer as a child, he used to train five days a week and compete in various competitions, finding it helped his asthma. An energetic, extroverted child, he studied drama as an outlet for his creativity. After studying drama at his secondary school, Alex soon found he had a real talent and joined a Saturday drama class. Encouraged by his teachers, Alex was elated to be accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School and later the London Dance Studios.
Career: His first TV appearance was at the age of 12 as an extra in Grange Hill. From 1992 to 1993 he appeared in the sitcom Side by Side. He first appeared in The Bill as a guest star in 1992, 1993 and 1995, before joining as a regular cast member in 1999. He played PC Dale Smith, better known as 'Smithy'. He left the show in 2001, only to return in 2003 when his character was promoted to Sergeant. After a spell in Waterloo Road, Walkinshaw joined the cast of Casualty in 2012 as senior staff nurse Adrian Fletcher. He took his character to Holby City in August 2014.
Quote: On his move from Casualty to Holby City: 'I was really quite nervous when I first started, but everyone has been so welcoming and friendly that I feel my transition has been fairly smooth.'
Trivia: In 2007, he took part in The Weakest Link and won £9,450 for Essex-based charity called 'Kids in Need'.

Born: August 31, 1976 in Croydon
Best Known For: Playing Natalie in EastEnders.
Early-life: Lucy Speed was born in Croydon in 1976. She has an older brother, Dan. As a child, she loved ballet and when a teacher recognised her potential, Lucy's parents acquired an agent. She attended a theatre group school alongside future co-star Nigel Harman, and enjoyed two terms at the Italia Conti Academy. During the next few years, Lucy appeared in an array of commercials, TV series and theatre roles.
Career: Lucy landed her big break aged 17 with the role of Natalie Price in EastEnders. She remained with the soap for just over a year, before making appearances in the films England, My England, Keep the Aspidistra Flying and Shakespeare in Love. She continued to work on TV too, appearing in Dangerfield, Holby City, Love Soup and the US series Unsolved Mysteries. In 1999, Lucy rejoined the cast of EastEnders to reprise her role as Natalie, eventually bowing out in 2004. In 2007, she joined the cast of The Bill.
Quote: 'I've been acting for 25 years, so you just take the jobs as they come along. It just so happens that you're once in EastEnders.'
Trivia: Away from acting, Lucy loves horse riding, skiing and continues to dance.

Best Known For: Playing nurse Tina Seabrook in Casualty
Early-life: Born February 10, 1975, in Edinburgh. When she was two the family moved to Norfolk, where she grew up with her older sister and brother. At 16, she enrolled in the Italia Conti Stage School, and took on a variety of jobs, including silver-service waitress and a story-telling raccoon in a theme park. Her first small-screen appearance was in the drama No More Dying Then.
Career: Claire lost out to Martine McCutcheon for the role of Tiffany in EastEnders, before landing her big break on Casualty in 1997, playing vulnerable nurse Tina Seabrook until 2000. She played Detective Mel Silver in Waking the Dead from 2000 to 2004, then insisted her character be killed off, before pursuing other projects, including Secret Smile, Perfect Day and Love Lies Bleeding. In 2007, Claire completed her first movie, an independent film called Bad Day. In August last year, she joined the cast of The Bill, playing Sergeant Rachel Weston and after its demise, has continued to be a sought-after character actor.
Quote: 'I always tend to play quite vulnerable characters, and I would quite like to do some silly stuff, just really stupid comedy.'
Trivia: Away from acting, she enjoys dancing and is interested in tarot cards.
