Early-life:
Born in London on November 6, 1963, Patrick attended the South East London School Drama Group from the age of 14 to 19. He studied architecture at college for a year before leaving to join the Robert Stigwood Organisation as an office messenger. He then attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (Lamda).
Career:
He spent four years with the Royal Shakespeare Company before leaving to join Casualty in 1990 to play charge nurse Martin 'Ash' Ashford. After leaving the series in 1996, he appeared in numerous stage productions and on TV in A Many Splintered Thing, The Bill, and Midsomer Murders. In February 2013, he returned to Casualty to reprise his role as Ash. After nearly 17 years away, the character returned as a doctor. In September 2013, Patrick became a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
