Jonny Lee Miller (Actor) .. Sherlock Holmes
Born: November 15, 1971 in Kingston, Surrey
Best Known For: Trainspotting and Elementary.
Early-life: Born November 15, 1971, in Kingston, Surrey, the son of actor Alan Miller, whose own father was Bernard Lee, best known for playing M in the early Bond films. As a teenager, his shyness didn't stop him becoming a member of the National Youth Music Theatre. He attended Tiffin School, a selective state grammar school for boys, where he acted in their plays. He left at 17 to pursue a showbusiness career.
Career: Made his TV debut in a 1983 adaptation of Mansfield Park. He then had small roles in Itch, Inspector Morse, Keeping Up Appearances, and Prime Suspect 3. He spent a year in EastEnders as Jonathan Hewitt, then made movies Hackers and Trainspotting, which introduced him to a wider audience. Although he hasn't enjoyed the same success as friends Jude Law and Ewan McGregor, Miller remains at the forefront of young British actors. His other credits include Regeneration, Plunkett and Macleane, Love, Honour and Obey, and Byron. Since 2012, he has had a lead role in the American drama Elementary.
Quote: "I never try to completely do a character, if you know what I mean. I always feel like I'm just being me, but in the character's situation."
Trivia: On the stage, he has starred in After Miss Julie, and Frankenstein.
Lucy Liu (Actor) .. Joan Watson
Born: December 02, 1968 in New York
Best Known For: Charlie's Angels
Early-life: Lucy Alexis Liu was born on December 2, 1968, to Chinese immigrants in Queens, New York. Her mother is a biochemist and her father a civil engineer. She has a brother and a sister and speaks fluent Mandarin. After high school she attended New York University, hated it, moved to the University of Michigan and gained a degree in Asian languages and cultures. She also did dance and acting training and, after playing the lead in a stage version of Alice in Wonderland, decided to turn professional.
Career: After moving to Los Angeles, Liu worked as an aerobics instructor before gradually gaining roles. After short appearances in Beverly Hills 90210, ER, and The X Files, she won a regular part in sitcom Pearl. Various forgettable roles followed before she set pulses racing as a dominatrix in Mel Gibson's Maverick and landed a regular part in Ally McBeal, which made her a star. She's since appeared in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and its sequel, Chicago, Kill Bill, Lucky Number Slevin and Elementary.
Quote: "Everything I buy is vintage and smells funny. Maybe that's why I don't have a boyfriend."

Best Known For: His footballing and movie careers
Early-life: Born Vincent Peter Jones on January 5, 1965, in Watford. His father was a gamekeeper. Vinnie's football career began in 1984 at non-league side Wealdstone, making ends meet as a hod carrier. He also spent a season with Swedish side IFK Holmsund before moving to Wimbledon, where he made his name, for a £10,000 fee. He was part of the "Crazy Gang" team that beat Liverpool to win the FA Cup in 1988. He subsequently played for Leeds United, Sheffield United and Chelsea, before moving back to Wimbledon in 1992. He also represented Wales, qualifying via a Welsh grandparent.
Career: Jones was infamous for his brutal hard-man image. He was sent off 12 times in his career, and holds the record for the quickest booking, having been cautioned after only three seconds of play. After spending time at QPR as player/coach, he was in line to become the club's manager, but instead retired from football and moved into acting. His first role came in the British gangster flick Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998, and the intensity of his performance wowed critics. He followed it up with Gone in 60 Seconds, Swordfish and X-Men: The Last Stand. Jones' more recent films haven't been as high profile, but he has had decent roles on TV in Elementary, The Musketeers and Arrow.
