Beejaye Joseph (Actor) .. Denise Okaro
Lisa Maxwell (Actor) .. DS Samantha Nixon
Born: November 24, 1963 in London
Best Known For: The Bill and Loose Women.
Early-life: Born on November 24, 1963, in Elephant and Castle, London. She was raised by her mother Val, a solicitor's receptionist, after her father walked out on them; she met him again when she was 45. Thanks to her performances at the Italia Conti Stage School, she was encouraged to pursue a showbusiness career by her mum. At 11, she won a role in the stage production Annie, appeared in the TV drama Ballet Shoes and made the schools programme A Place Like Home.
Career: Maxwell's first big break came in the early 1980s, when she was picked to front youth programme No Limits. She also provided the voice of Kira in 1982's cult movie The Dark Crystal. A role in the film Remembrance followed, as did TV series Splash. She became a household name while appearing alongside Russ Abbot and Les Dennis in their comedy series. Her popularity led to her own show, and in 1993 she moved to America. Maxwell landed the role of Daphne in Frasier but, after criticising the scripts, was replaced by Jane Leeves. She returned to the UK where she worked on stage and appeared in In Deep, before joining The Bill as Sam Nixon in 2002. She has appeared as a regular contributor on Loose Women since 2009.
Quote: On working with Russ Abbott: 'They were happy, happy days. Just imagine this, you get up every morning and all you've got to do is go and play silly beggars.'
Trivia: Maxwell proposed to her partner Paul Jessup, on the traditional Leap Year Day (29 February 2012).
Bernie Nolan (Actor) .. Sgt Sheelagh Murphy
Born: October 17, 1960 in Dublin
Best Known For: Her singing career.
Early-life: Bernadette Therese Nolan was born on October 17, 1960, in Dublin. Her family moved to Blackpool two years later, where she eventually attended the local St Catherine's School. She's one of eight children. Her parents, Tommy and Maureen, encouraged their offspring's singing talents, particularly those of their daughters. During the mid-1970s, all-girl band the Nolan Sisters, consisting of the five eldest girls, including Bernie, began performing regularly in clubs before moving onto TV variety shows.
Career: By 1977, the band were hugely popular, and two years later had their biggest hit, I'm in the Mood for Dancing. Although chart success later dried up, the siblings continued to appear on stage together, and even supported their idol, Frank Sinatra, on tour. Bernie left the group in 1994 to concentrate on her solo career and acting. She's appeared on stage in The Devil Rides Out, City of Angels, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Blood Brothers and Chicago, and on TV in Brookside and The Bill. She died from breast cancer on July 4, 2013 at the age of 52.
Quote: 'I was lucky in that I was only ill once during chemotherapy,' she admits. 'But losing my hair and eyebrows was hard to deal with.'

After her parents split up when she was eight, Diane didn't speak to her father again for 20 years, but she says that she was young enough to adapt to his absence. Diane discovered her love of acting at a young age, and with the encouragement of her mother and teachers went on to win a place at the prestigious drama school, Rada.
Career: Parish began her career in theatre, going on to make TV appearances in the likes of Lovejoy, Casualty, Holding On, The Vice and Clocking Off. She also made her soap debut in 1998, when she turned up as singer Lola in EastEnders.
