Early-life: Born Christopher Ashton Kutcher on February 7, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His twin brother Michael was born with a heart defect and cerebral palsy; they have an older sister, Tausha. After graduating from high school he studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa. During this period he was so poor, he had to supplement his income as a cleaner by selling his blood as a paid donor. Early-life: Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981, in Pomona, California, the daughter of a US Air Force worker. As a result, she moved around a lot as a youngster, living in Biloxi, Missouri and Del Rio, before eventually settling with her family in southern California. Decided she wanted to tread the boards at age five and began acting lessons at 12. Nine months later she was signed by an agent. Her brother, Joshua, also acts.
Career: Made her film debut in 1994's Camp Nowhere. Originally cast in a minor role, she was offered a bigger part when another actress dropped out, and the film gave her a chance to make her mark. Her part in children's TV series Flipper and The Secret World of Alex Mack won her fans, who also became hooked on Dark Angel when it first aired in the US in 2000. Early-life: Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas, on April 17, 1972. The middle of three daughters, she was raised in Charleston, West Virginia, by her English teacher mother and father, a chemical engineer. As a child she had ballet lessons. After graduating from high school, Garner enrolled at Denison University, Ohio, to study chemistry, but soon discovered her heart lay in acting. She planned to do drama at Yale, but moved to New York instead.
Career: Garner worked in a restaurant in New York while trying to land acting roles. She then moved to Los Angeles, and made her TV debut in an adaptation of Danielle Steel novel Zoya. She went on to have small roles in Law & Order, Deconstructing Harry (1997), TV drama Time of Your Life and Dude, Where's My Car? (2000) before landing the lead in sci-fi TV series Alias in 2001. Early-life: Julia Fiona Roberts was born on October 28, 1967, in Atlanta, Georgia. She has Swedish and Irish ancestry. Her father was a vacuum cleaner salesman, her mother an estate agent and church secretary. They were both keen amateur actors and playwrights. Her father died when Julia was 10. As a child, she wanted to be a vet, but on leaving high school, studied journalism. However, her elder brother Eric's acting career inspired her to tread the boards. She also has an older sister and a younger half sister.
Career: After attending Georgia State University, Julia moved to New York to begin her career. She also did some modelling. Her first role was in Blood Red, alongside her brother, in 1986, although it wasn't released for three years. Mystic Pizza was her first notable project in 1988, and a year later she received her first Oscar nomination for Steel Magnolias. Pretty Woman made her a massive star. Hits since then include Flatliners, Sleeping with the Enemy, My Best Friend's Wedding, Notting Hill and Ocean's Eleven. She won an Oscar for Erin Brockovich, becoming Hollywood's highest paid actress in the process.

Patrick Dempsey (Actor) .. Dr Harrison Copeland

Early-life: Patrick Galen Dempsey was born on January 13, 1966, in Lewiston, Maine. He grew up in Buckfield, and attended the local high school. As a teenager, Patrick dreamed of being a circus performer and hoped to attend Clown College after coming third for his age group at a National Jugglers' competition. However, he moved into acting, and won a few small parts in films including Heaven Help Us and Meatballs III: Summer Job.
Career: Dempsey became a teen mag favourite when he starred in Can't Buy Me Love in 1987 as Ronald, a nerd who pays a popular cheerleader to go out with him. He won a Young Artist Award for the role, which led to parts in movies including In a Shallow Grave and Loverboy. However, his career went into a downward spiral, and many of his films, including Run and Face the Music, were box-office flops. A range of TV movies followed, and he appeared opposite Dustin Hoffman in 1995's Outbreak. After starring in Scream 3, Dempsey's popularity increased again, and he has since been seen in Will & Grace and Sweet Home Alabama. He currently stars as Dr Derek Shepherd in medical drama Grey's Anatomy. Though he had a box-office hit with family film Enchanted in 2007, Made of Honor, released in 2010, was less well received.

Early-life: Jessica Claire Biel was born in Ely, Minnesota on March 3, 1982 to Jonathan and Kimberly. She has a brother, Justin. At age nine, she appeared in several musical productions in her home town. A few years later, she was discovered by a modelling agency and began modelling for print advertisements and appearing in commercials. Her film debut was in the musical It's a Digital World (1994). As a teenager she was cast as Mary Camden in TV family drama 7th Heaven.
Career: Biel went on to star in six seasons of 7th Heaven and made guest appearances in seasons 7, 8 and 10. During her run on the show, she found the time to star in I'll Be Home for Christmas (1998), The Rules of Attraction (2002), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Blade: Trinity (2004), Elizabethtown (2005) and The Illusionist (2006). Jamie Foxx (Actor) .. Kelvin Moore

Early-life: Born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas. His parents' marriage broke up and he was adopted by his grandparents when he was seven months old. He was raised in a strict household, was a member of the church choir and scouts, and had piano lessons from the age of five. He went on to win a classical piano scholarship at the International University in San Diego.
Career: Encouraged by a girlfriend, he made his stage debut as a stand-up comic in 1989. Foxx changed his name to something androgynous after learning that women were first on the bill at open-mic nights in comedy clubs. By 1991 he was a star in the US thanks to TV show In Living Color. His first film was 1992's Toys. Since then he's had his own, self-titled show, and featured in movies The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Any Given Sunday, Ali and Collateral. His leading role in Ray Charles biopic Ray propelled him onto Hollywood's A-list. He's also released several albums, and collaborated with Kanye West on hit single Gold Digger.

Early-life: Bradley Charles Cooper was born in Philadelphia on January 5, 1975 to Gloria and Charles. He has a sister, Holly. Bradley attended Villanova University for a year before transferring to Georgetown University. He went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in acting from the Actors Studio Drama School at The New School in New York.
Career: Cooper's first acting role was a small part in an episode of Sex and the City in 1999. He made his film debut in Wet Hot American Summer (2001) and his first break came the same year when he was cast as Will Tippin in TV drama Alias, a role he would play over five seasons. He went on to work regularly in a number of TV shows and films until his biggest break came in 2009 when The Hangover was a huge box-office hit around the world. Queen Latifah (Actor) .. Paula Thomas

Early-life: Born Dana Elaine Owens in Newark, New Jersey, on March 18, 1970, Queen Latifah is the daughter of a teacher and a police officer. Her parents divorced when she was 10. She found her stage name, Latifah, in an Arabic book of names when she was eight. She played on her high school women's basketball team. In the late 1980s, she began beat boxing and her first single, Wrath of My Madness, was released in 1988.
Career: Her debut album, All Hail the Queen, was released in 1989 when she was 19. After she issued her fourth hip-hop album, Order in the Court, she began to sing soul music and jazz standards. She released her first soul/jazz album, The Dana Owens Album, in 2004. She returned to hip-hop in 2008 on the record All Hail the Queen II. Away from music, she began acting in the 1990s in American sitcom Living Single. She went on to have supporting roles in the films House Party 2 (1991), Jungle Fever (1991), Juice (1992), Set It Off (1996), Living Out Loud (1998) and The Bone Collector (1999) and had her own talk show from 1999 to 2001. Anne Hathaway (Actor) .. Liz

Early-life: Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 12, 1982. Her father is a lawyer and her mother is in actress. Anne has two brothers. Her family moved to New Jersey when she was six. She participated in a number of plays at school and went on to study at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie before transferring to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and was the first teenager admitted into The Barrow Group Theater Company's acting programme.
Career: At the age of 16, Hathaway was cast in short-lived TV series Get Real. Her big-screen debut came in The Other Side of Heaven. In the same year she beat 500 other girls to land a role alongside Julie Andrews in Disney's The Princess Diaries. The film was a huge success and the family films Nicholas Nickleby, Ella Enchanted and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement followed before she started taking on more mature roles.
