Early-life: Steven John Carell was born in Concord, Massachusetts on August 16, 1962, to an Italian-American family (their original surname, Carselli, was shortened by his grandfather). His father was an electrical engineer, his mother a psychiatric nurse. Carell studied at an all-boys private institution. After graduating from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, he honed his performing skills with Chicago's Second City comedy troupe.
Career: During the 1990s, Carell taught an improvisational comedy class, wrote for The Dana Carvey Show and was one of the correspondents on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He impressed critics with supporting roles in Bruce Almighty (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). In 2005, he co-wrote and starred in The 40 Year Old Virgin, which thrust him into the mainstream. He also shone in Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and helped turn the US version of British sitcom The Office into a big success. Since then he's starred in the likes of Date Night (2010), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), Hope Springs (2012) and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013). He left The Office in 2011 to concentrate on movies.

Catherine Keener (Actor) .. Trish
Born: March 23, 1959 in Miami, Florida
Best Known For: Playing Maxine Lund in Being John Malkovich.
Early-life: Catherine Ann Keener was born in Miami, Florida on March 23, 1959. She has four siblings, including actress Elizabeth Keener. Catherine studied at Wheaton College in Massachusetts, where she graduated with a degree in English and history in 1983. While studying here, she joined a theatre course and appeared in her first theatrical production during her junior year.
Career: Keener's first film appearance was a one-worded role as a waitress in About Last Night… (1986). She then went on to appear in Survival Quest (1988). After struggling in the industry for a number of years, she landed a part in Johnny Suede (1991) and began getting roles in independent films. Her mainstream breakthrough was in Being John Malkovich (1999). Since then, she has appeared in many more films, including Capote (2005), Into The Wild (2007), Captain Phillips (2013) and Get Out (2017).

Early-life: Paul Stephen Rudd was born on April 6th, 1969, in Passaic, New Jersey, but was raised in Overland Park, Kansas. Both his parents were English. He has a younger sister. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Kansas but realised academic life wasn't for him. Instead, he went to the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, studying alongside Scooby-Doo star Matthew Lilliard. To make ends meet, he worked as a DJ.
Career: Following a short course at Oxford University, Rudd helped to produce a performance at the Globe Theatre and played Hamlet, directed by Ben Kingsley. His first TV work came in 1992, including a year-long stint on soap opera Sisters. More stage work followed before his big break came when he was cast as the love interest in hit movie Clueless. He's been in demand ever since, appearing in such diverse projects as Romeo + Juliet, The Cider House Rules, The Object of My Affection, Jackie Chan's Gen-X Cops 2 and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. He became a semi-regular in Friends in 2002. Since then, he has appeared in a number of hit comedy films, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Night at the Museum, The Ex, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Role Models, Year One, Dinner for Schmucks and Ant-Man.

Early-life: Vancouver-born Rogen began his career doing stand-up comedy during his teen years, winning the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest in 1998. While still living in his native Vancouver, he landed a small part in TV series Freaks and Geeks. Shortly after Rogen moved to Los Angeles for his role, Freaks and Geeks was cancelled. After landing a job as a staff writer on the final season of Da Ali G Show, for which Rogen and the other writers received an Emmy nomination, he was guided by film producer Judd Apatow toward a film career.
Career: Rogen was cast in a major supporting role and credited as a co-producer in Apatow's directorial debut, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. After Rogen received critical praise for that performance, Universal Pictures agreed to cast him as the lead in Apatow's directorial feature films Knocked Up and Funny People. Rogen and his comedy partner Evan Goldberg co-wrote the films Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Green Hornet. Rogen has done voice work for the films Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Paul.

Early-life: Born Elizabeth Irene Mitchell in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on February 10, 1974, she is the eldest of four children. She was playing in a little league baseball team when she broke her leg sliding into third base. Trying out for a school play sparked her interest in acting. She went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania and the American Conservatory Theater.
Career: Banks had small roles in various films before she raised her profile in The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005). She went on to star in Slither (2006), Meet Bill (2007), Fred Claus (2007), Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008), W. (2008), The Next Three Days (2010), What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012) and Pitch Perfect (2012). Career: In 2004, Mann played a nurse in short-lived medical drama Birdland and a year later she was chosen from an open audition of 500 candidates to star in The Cable Guy (1996). Since then she has starred in a number of big-screen comedies, including George of the Jungle (1997), Big Daddy (1999), The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007), 17 Again (2009) and This Is 40 (2012). Early-life: Jane Marie Lynch was born in Dolton, Illinois on 14 July 1960. Her father was a banker and her mother was a housewife. She indulged her lifelong interest in acting when she opted to do a bachelor's degree in theatre at Illinois State University. Jane began appearing in various stage roles while she was studying.
Career: During the 1990s, Lynch guest starred on a number of TV shows, including Married with Children, 3rd Rock from the Sun and Frasier. Her film breakthrough came with Best in Show (2000), where she played a butch, lesbian dog handler. Despite this, she continued her penchant for making guest appearances on high-profile TV shows. In the early noughties she appeared in The X Files, The King of Queens, Arrested Development, Friends, The L Word and Two and a Half Men. Her next major film role was playing Steve Carell's quirky lust-fuelled boss in The 40-Year Old Virgin (2005).
