Douglas Henshall (Actor) .. Prof Nick Cutter
Born: November 19, 1965 in Barrhead, near Paisley
Best Known For: Playing Cutter in Primeval.
Early-life: Douglas James Henshall was born in Glasgow on November 19, 1965. His mum was a nurse, his father a salesman and he has two older sisters. Although he appeared in school plays, he didn't decide to become an actor until he was 17. Before that, he wanted to be a football commentator or an artist. After graduation, he made ends meet working as an insurance salesman in London, before heading back to Glasgow to join the 7:84 Theatre Group.
Career: Henshall made his TV debut in an episode of Taggart in 1990, but got his big break three years later when he starred alongside his friend Ewan McGregor in the Dennis Potter drama Lipstick on Your Collar. Henshall went on to star in films including Orphans and This Year's Love, and in 1999 won rave reviews for his performances in the TV dramas Psycho and Kid in the Corner. He's also appeared in Anna Karenina, Lawless Heart, Frances Tuesday, Primeval and The Secret of Crickley Hall. He made his West End debut in 2005 playing Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman alongside Brian Dennehy, and in 2012 portrayed Oliver Cromwell in the play 55 Days. Other projects have included The Secret of Crickley Hall and Doors Open.
Quote: "I used to say 'no' a lot, waiting for this mythic job that was going to come along. Now I do what's in front of me, rather than what might be round the corner."
Trivia: Away from acting, he supports Scottish football team St Mirren.
James Murray (Actor) .. Stephen Hart
Andrew-Lee Potts (Actor) .. Connor Temple
Hannah Spearritt (Actor) .. Abby Maitland
Ben Miller (Actor) .. James Lester
Born: February 24, 1966 in London
Best Known For: His comedy partnership with Alexander Armstrong.
Early-life: Bennet Evan Miller was born on February 24, 1966, in London and raised in Nantwich, Cheshire, where he attended the local comprehensive. Both his parents were teachers, and he has two younger sisters. Ben attended Cambridge University, where he joined the famous Footlights comedy group and met Alexander Armstrong. He began studying for a PhD in physics - his thesis was on novel quantum effects in quasi-zero dimensional mesoscopic electron systems - but abandoned it halfway through to concentrate on comedy instead, forming a duo with Armstrong.
Career: Miller and Armstrong toured pubs and clubs for four years before making their TV debut on Saturday Live in 1995. The following year they were nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award, and landed their own Channel 4 show; they later moved to the BBC. Miller has acted in films including The Parole Officer, Birthday Girl, Johnny English and The Prince and Me, and has also starred in small-screen offerings Marple, Malice Aforethought, The Book Group, The Worst Week of My Life, Moving Wallpaper and Primeval. In 2011, he had a successful run in West End hit The Ladykillers. Miller recently quit his role in BBC hit Death in Paradise.
Quote: "I like to do completely different things, go from one thing to another, which is possibly why no one knows who I am."

Early-life: Born in 1972 in Liverpool. Her mum was a school secretary and her dad was a civil engineer. At the age of 12, she joined the Liverpool Playhouse Youth Theatre, where she was spotted two years later by the makers of Brookside. Career: In 1989, the 16-year-old Kearney starred in Shirley Valentine, but decided to put her career on the backburner so she could concentrate on her education. After taking her A-levels, she studied for a degree at the Rose Bruford drama school in north London. She was still in demand as an actress and her tutors marked her performance in the TV drama The Tides of Life as part of her final assessment. She has regularly acted on stage and in TV series including Liverpool One, Sex, Chips and Rock 'n' Roll, Hope and Glory and The Forsyte Saga. More recently, she has starred in Shameless, Casualty, Silent Witness and Suspects. In December 2014, it was announced that she was joining the cast of Emmerdale.
