Best Known For: Blunt-talking soldier Sharpe.
Early-life: Born Shaun Mark Bean in Sheffield on April 17, 1959, the elder of two children. A fanatical Sheffield United supporter with '100% Blade' tattooed on his shoulder, he left school at 16 with two O-Levels. His first job was working for his father's welding firm, and while he was doing a day-release course at college he stumbled on an acting class. He was later accepted into Rada and made his professional stage debut in 1983 as Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, at the Watermill Theatre, Newbury.
Career: Sean worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company before making his TV debut in a 1984 episode of The Bill. Roles in The Fifteen Streets, Stormy Monday and Patriot Games followed before Lady Chatterley and the first Sharpe TV movies made him a household name in 1993. Other work includes A Woman's Guide to Adultery, Bravo Two Zero, GoldenEye, Ronin, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Equilibrium, Troy, National Treasure and HBO TV series Game of Thrones. He is one of Hollywood's most sought-after character actors and always has a number of productions in the pipeline.

Danny Dyer (Actor) .. Gene Dekker
Born: July 24, 1977 in London
Best Known For: Playing Mick Carter in EastEnders.
Early-life: Danny Dyer was born in Canning Town, London, on July 24, 1977 to Antony and Christine. He began a lifelong love of football as a boy and is an ardent West Ham United supporter. After being spotted by an agent while still at school he made his TV acting debut at the age of 16 in Prime Suspect 3. He went on to appear in episodes of Cadfael, A Touch of Frost, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Bill and Soldier Soldier.
Career: Dyer's first film was 1999's Human Traffic and he followed this up with roles in a number of low-budget movies, including Borstal Boy (2000), High Heels and Low Lifes (2001), Mean Machine (2001), The Football Factory (2004), Adulthood (2008) and Vendetta (2013). Dyer had a lead role in Run for Your Wife (2013), which was savaged by film critics and only took £602 during its opening weekend. He has also appeared in a number of stage productions, including Celebration and No Man's Land, and has presented documentaries about football and hardmen. In 2013, he joined the cast of EastEnders as Mick Carter.

Trivia: In 2007, Dyer became the chairman of non-league football team Greenwich Borough.
Rupert Friend (Actor) .. Sandy Mardell
Born: October 09, 1981 in Stonesfield, Oxfordshire
Best Known For: Playing Peter Quinn in Homeland.
Early-life: Rupert William Anthony Friend was born in Stonesfield, Oxfordshire, on October 9, 1981. His mother is a solicitor and his father is a cultural historian. Rupert went on to study acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. During his time at drama school, he had three minor roles in the film The Laramie Project (2002). A larger part came two years later in The Libertine (2004).
Career: Friend had his first starring role opposite Joan Plowright in Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont (2005). In the same year, he starred in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Roles followed in The Moon and the Stars (2007), Jolene (2008), The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008), The Young Victoria (2009), Cheri (2009) and The Kid (2010). More recently, Friend has appeared in Starred Up (2014), Meet Me in Montenegro (2014) and Hitman: Agent 47 (2015). Since 2012, he has played Peter Quinn in the TV drama Homeland.

Bob Hoskins (Actor) .. Walter Lewis
Born: October 26, 1942 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Best Known For: The Long Good Friday.
Early-life: Born Robert William Hoskins Jr in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on October 26, 1942, but grew up in Finsbury Park, London. He left school at 15 following a happy, but rebellious childhood and supported himself via a series of odd jobs, including window cleaner, truck driver, steeplejack and even circus performer. Despite never taking a single drama lesson, he landed his first acting role in 1968 after being invited to take part in an audition at a pub.
Career: Small parts in TV productions and films during the early 1970s led to him landing his breakthrough role in Dennis Potter's 1978 miniseries Pennies from Heaven. Violent thriller The Long Good Friday followed in 1980, cementing his stardom. Other offerings, including The Cotton Club, Brazil, Mona Lisa and A Prayer for the Dying followed, but he found global fame in 1988's effects-laden Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Subsequent Hollywood movies included Mermaids and Hook, but he also worked in the UK on A Christmas Carol, Made in Dagenham, TwentyFourSeven, Last Orders and The Street. His final film, Snow White and the Huntsman, was released in 2012. He died of pneumonia on April 30, 2014.

Lennie James (Actor) .. Cedric Munroe
Born: October 11, 1965 in Nottingham
Best Known For: Snatch
Early-life: James was born in Nottingham on October 11, 1965. His Afro-Trinidadian parents originate from Nigeria, and the family moved to London when he was a child. He lived in South London and went to school at Ernest Bevin College. James attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 1988.
Career: Lennie has appeared in more than 20 films, including the 1998 film adaptation of Les Miserables, the Guy Ritchie crime caper Snatch (2000), 24 Hour Party People (2002), and Sahara (2005) and wrote the play The Sons of Charlie Paora, which was performed at London's Royal Court Theatre. He appeared in the short-lived Channel 4 prison drama Buried. He played Luke Gardner in the BBC terrorism drama The State Within, Bishop David Newman on the BBC spy drama Spooks and was in the CBS drama Jericho. He played the role of Cedric Munroe in the 2007 film Outlaw and is constantly in-demand on both sides of the Atlantic. He has made guest appearances as Morgan Jones on AMC series The Walking Dead.

Best Known For: Playing Lucy in the BBC comedy Not Going Out.
Early-life: Sally was born in Portsmouth on April 23, 1980. She made her TV acting debut as a child in the 1987 miniseries Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story. She went on to train at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Career: Bretton has starred in a number of TV shows, including Sunburn, The Office, Night & Day, Absolute Power, Blessed, and Green Wing, but she is better known for playing Lee Mack's love interest Lucy in the BBC comedy Not Going Out. Her film credits include Outlaw (2007).
Quote: 'I tend to take quite heavy roles in the theatre and then muck about on telly.'
Trivia: Bretton worked as a drama teacher at the Top Hat Stage and Screen School.
