Jet Li (Actor) .. Rogue
Born: April 26, 1963 in Beijing, China
Best Known For: A string of hugely successful kung-fu movies.
Early-life: Li was born Li Lian Jie in Beijing, China in 1963. His father died when he was two. His mother took him to the Beijing Amateur Sports School at the age of eight. Li participated in Chinese martial arts competitions on the Beijing Wushu team, an athletic group organised to perform these traditional forms and movements during the All China Games. He went on to win 15 gold medals and one silver medal in Chinese wushu championships.
Career: In his teens, he was already a national coach, and before he was 20, he had starred in his first movie, which started the 1980s Kung Fu boom in mainland China. He relocated to Hong Kong, where he was the biggest star of the early 1990s Kung Fu revival as well. After a string of successful films in which he performed all of his own stunts and dazzled audiences with his hand speed, he caught the eye of Hollywood and was cast in Lethal Weapon IV. He has followed it up with mainstream movies both in China and America and despite announcing he would make no more martial arts films, he is still an action star. His recent work includes The Expendables films.
Quote: "You can beat me up, but don't touch my hair, I will kill you!"
Trivia: He has been an ambassador of the Red Cross Society of China since 2006.
Jason Statham (Actor) .. Special Agent Jack Crawford
Born: September 12, 1972 in Chesterfield
Best Known For: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Early-life: Born September 12, 1972, in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, but later moved to Great Yarmouth. He played football at school, but a passion for swimming led to his success as a diver on the British National Diving Team. While training at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, he was spotted by a talent scout and became a model for the French Connection clothing company.
Career: While modelling, he met then-unknown film-maker Guy Ritchie, who cast him in his first film, 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which put them both on the showbiz map. Statham went on to star in Ritchie's follow-up movie Snatch, and then started forging a career in Hollywood. Although John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars was a flop, he soon proved to be one of Britain's most reliable action stars, thanks to hits such as The One, The Transporter and its sequel; The Italian Job; Cellular; Chaos; Crank; War, and The Bank Job. He was among the action star dream line-up in The Expendables and its sequels, and has several more films in production.
