Early-life: Nigella Lucy Lawson was born on January 6, 1960, to politician Nigel Lawson and Lyons Corner House heiress Vanessa Salmon. She had three siblings, Horatia, Dominic - who went on to be editor of The Sunday Telegraph - and Thomasina, who died of breast cancer in 1993. She's also penned a number of books to accompany the programmes, and several others including How to Be a Domestic Goddess, which caused controversy among feminists. Her talk show failed to win over critics or the public, but she enjoyed further culinary success with Nigella Feasts, which aired in the US.
