Anthony Hopkins (Actor) .. Charles Morse
Born: December 31, 1937 in Margam, near Port Talbot
Best Known For: The Silence of the Lambs
Early-life: Born Philip Anthony Hopkins on December 31, 1937, in Margam, near Port Talbot, South Wales, the only child of a baker. He claims he was an introverted child who did poorly at school, finding solace in playing the piano; he is now considered a virtuoso. He was inspired to become an actor after meeting local boy Richard Burton. After national service, Hopkins studied at the Cardiff College of Music and Art before enrolling at Rada.
Career: Hopkins's first professional work was on stage. He later joined Laurence Olivier's National Theatre, but left to make acclaimed movie The Lion in Winter. A steady stream of TV and film work followed (as well as some theatre appearances), including War and Peace, The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case, The Bunker, A Bridge Too Far, The Elephant Man, and Across the Lake. But Hopkins didn't become a major Hollywood star until after giving up alcohol. He won an Oscar for 1991's The Silence of the Lambs, and since then has starred in such hits as The Remains of the Day, Howards End, Hannibal, Shadowlands, Thor and Hitchcock.
Quote: "The Welsh people have a talent for acting that one does not find in the English. The English lack heart."
Trivia: Hopkins was knighted in 1993 and away from movies, he loves to paint and take road trips across the US.
Alec Baldwin (Actor) .. Robert Green
Born: April 03, 1958 in New York
Best Known For: Being the eldest of four acting brothers.
Early-life: Alexander Rae Baldwin III was born in Amityville, Long Island, New York, on April 3, 1958. He is from a large family, which includes his actor brothers William, Stephen and Daniel, and two sisters. His father was a teacher, his mother a housewife. Alec attended George Washington University and majored in political science, originally intending to be a lawyer. However, after graduating, he auditioned for a place on New York University's drama programme as a dare. He was accepted, and hasn't looked back.
Career: Alongside theatre roles, Baldwin's early career included parts in TV series The Doctors, Cutter to Houston and Knots Landing. His first film was Forever, Lulu in 1987. A year later he starred in Beetlejuice (1988), and had smaller roles in Married to the Mob (1988), Working Girl (1988), Talk Radio (1988), and She's Having a Baby (1988). The Hunt for Red October in 1990 saw him take the lead alongside screen icon Sean Connery. He went on to appear in Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), The Getaway (1994), Pearl Harbor (2001), The Cooler (2003), The Departed (2006), The Good Shepherd (2006), Brooklyn Rules (2007), It's Complicated (2009) and Blue Jasmine (2013). He won a number of awards for his portrayal of Jack Donaghy in NBC sitcom 30 Rock between 2006 and 2013, was the host of a short-lived chat show called Up Late with Alec Baldwin and co-hosted the Oscars with Steve Martin in 2010. More recently, he has appeared in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015), voiced lead character Timothy Templeton in The Boss Baby (2017) and appeared in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. He also played Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live and received a Critics Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series.
Quote: "Acting in the theatre is fun. Acting in film is work."
Trivia: Baldwin was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in The Cooler (2003).
Elle Macpherson (Actor) .. Mickey Morse
Born: March 29, 1963 in Killara, Sydney, Australia
Best Known For: Her perfect figure.
Early-life: Born Eleanor Nancy Gow on March 29, 1964, in Killara, Sydney, Australia, the oldest of four children. She took her now famous surname from her barrister stepfather after her parents' divorce. Her real dad, Peter Gow, once owned a rugby team. She was a tomboy as a child, preferring climbing trees to playing with dolls. Macpherson planned a law career, but became a model after being discovered during a holiday at Aspen, Colorado.
Career: Macpherson made her name as a supermodel, but later turned to acting. Her first major film was Sirens in 1994. Her dedication to the job meant she put on 20lbs to play a 1950s artist's model. While losing the weight, she and fitness expert Karen Voight devised a workout which led to a best-selling aerobics video. She continued her acting career with roles in Jane Eyre, The Edge, Batman and Robin, The Mirror Has Two Faces, and a short-lived role in Friends as Joey's flatmate. She became the host of Britain's Next Top Model in 2010. She has also enjoyed a number of successful business ventures, including a best-selling lingerie line, and is a European Ambassador for RED, an initiative set up by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise money and awareness for the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Quote: "Nudity has never been an issue for me - I'm Australian. It's more of a thing in America. I mean people can buy guns, yet it's against the law to be topless on the beach."
Trivia: Macpherson is an ambassador for Unicef.
Harold Perrineau (Actor) .. Stephen
Born: August 07, 1963 in New York
Trivia: He voices the main character in Marvel Anime: Blade.
Best Known For: Playing single dad Michael in Lost.
Early-life: Born Harold Williams on August 7, 1963, in New York. His parents never married and Harold took his mother's surname as his own when launching his career to avoid confusion with another actor. After growing up in Brooklyn, he studied music and theatre at the Shenandoah Conservatory and originally looked set to specialise as a dancer, training with the renowned Alvin Ailey Company for 18 months. However, his interest in acting led to roles in touring shows and the off-Broadway revival of Godspell.
Career: Perrineau made his screen debut as a dancer in the hit TV series Fame in the 1980s, landing guest roles in other programmes and films, including The Cosby Show and King of New York, while also pursuing a theatre career. Despite numerous screen performances, it wasn't until 1996 he grabbed the public's attention, delivering a memorable turn as Mercutio in Baz Luhrmann's contemporary version of Romeo + Juliet. He won critical acclaim for turns in Woman on Top and Oz before joing the Wachowski Brothers' Matrix cast for Reloaded and Revolutions. His fame has increased thanks to cult US drama series Lost.
Quote: About playing cross-dressing Monica in Woman on Top: "You look in the mirror and say 'I look pretty, I feel really pretty'."
