Early-life:
Paul William Walker IV was born in Glendale, California, on September 12, 1973 to Cheryl and Paul William Walker III. Paul's ancestry was mostly English with a bit of German, Swiss and Irish. The oldest of five siblings, he was raised in the Sunland community of Los Angeles. After leaving school, he studied marine biology at community colleges in Southern California. His first taste of acting was as a toddler in a nappy commercial.
Career:
Walker first started acting on TV in 1985 with a guest role in Highway to Heaven. Other early TV credits included parts in Throb, Charles in Charge, Who's the Boss, The Young and the Restless and Touched by an Angel. He made his film debut in horror comedy Monster in the Closet (1986). He had supporting roles in Pleasantville (1998), Varsity Blues (1999), She's All That (1999) and The Skulls (2000). His big break came in 2001 when he starred opposite Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious. He returned to the Fast and the Furious franchise in 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). He had been filming Furious 7 (2015) when he died in an automobile accident on November 30, 2013 at the age of 40. His other film credits include Running Scared (2006), Eight Below (2006), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Hours (2013) and Brick Mansions (2014).
